Lauren, keep your spirits up, and get a doctor you trust!!!! you don't know what a difference it makes. My fathers a doctor and having someone you trust telling you whats going on makes the process so much easier, even if its not good news. Good luck, I'm praying for you...

Lauren I'm keeping you in my prayers. It is important to find a doctor that you trust and can relate and understands what you are going through. My numbers were low at the beginning too but they doubled as expected, hopefully your numbers will be way up the next time you test.

Britney, even though your numbers are low it matters that it doubles about every 48 hours and it looks like yours is heading that way!
Daniella - I had my first first on Frid 1/13 and I was able to see the my baby and swa the flickering of it's heart, it was amazing. I guess I am not really sure when I conceived because based on my first day of last period I should be 8.5 weeks not but from the us the doc said that it looked more like 7 weeks. I will have another appt on 2/6 and they will do another us to measure and I should be able to find out when is the dues date. I am having a lot of trouble eating, fell nausea mostly in the evenings but no vomiting. All food seems to be yucky to me, any ideas how I can ease this quesy feeling I am having? Also does it get worst?

Kimberley- I hardly ever felt that sick.. just a bit on the nausea, but no getting sick.. except when I took my prenatals with water. I found it to help taking my vitamins with milk. If I jumped out of bed and headed to work without eating, then it would be worse. I usually just ate a bunch of small meals throughout the day. Seems I was feeling a bit more ill late at night in bed. Everyone has different things that work for them. I know milk helped me, but some woman got sick on milk because it was too heavy. Although, I drink skim or 1% milk. Also, crackers help (but you hear that everywhere). Anyhow, as far as your u/s goes.. they will know better when they can get an actual heartbeat and do measurements. Who knows, maybe you just ovulated late. Are your cycles always every 28 days? If not, then they really can't go by your LMP. They tried that with me and I told them that can't do that because I could get my period every 3 months. It was never clockwork for me. Luckily this pregnancy I knew the exact date of conception (only one day around then, lol)... and it measured dead on. So, we had a good feeling about this one. Yet, if we happen to have had s_x more than that one day, I would be scared of not knowing. Anyhow, when is your next scan??

Thanks Daniella. I've been taking my prenatal vitamins for awhile now and never had any problems until lately they seem all of a sudden too big to swallow :-). I tried milk and it was too heavy for me even with skim and 1% milk but I seem to able to take milkshake :-) so I might try strawberry milk to see if that helps. The nausea feeling usually starts aroun 4pm and last until I go to bed so I don't eat much at all during dinner. I make sure that I eat breakfast and throughout the day to try and make up for it but I am afraid that I may not be eating enough. Do you know if those bracelet that you wear on your wrist for motion sickness helps? My next us will be on 2/6, I think at that time I should be able to hear the hearbeat and have a better idea when the baby is due. My period is usally about 28-30 days, but because I had a mc in Sept, it took 9 weeks before I had my first period after that so the timing is off. I guess I will get my answer soon enough!

Kimberely- yea, I always felt worse towards the end of the day also... I don't like that they call it "morning sickness" lol... it was hardly ever in the morning for me. Even now at 24 weeks... I sometimes feel ill to my tummy later at night. It helps if I take a little nap and eat some light carbs. A bagel helped A LOT for me. It pa__ses pretty quick and in a few weeks, you'll look back and it will just be an old memory... lol. But, trust me, it does get better!! Also, I have a question... when they said you looked 7 weeks... what was the heartbeat at??

Thanks Danielle, it's good to know that it will get better but a few weeks seems like a long long time :-) The doc didn't actually listen or measure the heartbeat, it was just based on the us and the measurement. She just said that she can tell right away that the fetus was not 8 weeks yet. I only saw the flickering of the heartbeat but did not get to hear it. Can you actually hear it through the u/s? I had to have a v____al u/s because they saw I was still early.

I had a transv____al ultrasound until my 19 week scan. lol... and yea, we heard ours at 7.5 weeks real loud on the ultrasound. But, the dr. has to key it in to hear the heartbeat. I'm very surprised she didnt. When I had my ultrasound at 5w6d, the doctor searched for a heartbeat and it was only at a flicker that early, but you could see it on the screen and he even pointed it out. After 6.5 weeks, they usually try to find a heartbeat. I've never heard of them doing a scan without trying. Weird. I'm sure you will hear it loud and clear on your next scan. Ours was 166bpm on the 7.5 week scan. I have my 7.5 week ultrasound picture if you want it. You can see everything clear on it

Thanks Daniella! I have the link to your webpage. Yeah I thik the doc was probably in a rush because my u/s was squeezed in. That was my first appt with the prenatal clerk and because I was paranoid because of my m/c last time I wanted an u/s so they squeezed me in for a quick one to rea__sure me. Hopefully I'll get to listen to it next time :-) I have a pic of my last appt, will see if it looks like yours, thanks :-)

HI..... i want your opinions.... my LMP was on 12-2-05. On Jan 1st I found out that I was pregnant with a faint line on a early response test, so i figured I had low hCG. On Jan 8th I started to bleed heavily with clots and have minor pain as if I was starting my period. I went to the ER and they said that my hCG was 115 and that I probably had a miscarriage because I should have been 5 weeks preg and the count was low. I went back to get tested on Jan 16th and my level was at 504. Nothing seen in U/S. Is that normal. Since LMP I should be 6 1/2 weeks, but not by the numbers. Should I base my pregnancy on the date of my last period even though my periods have been abnormal for the past 6 months since i had my iud removed? The ER doc didn't seem worried, he said that its just an early pregnancy. HELP!!! What if my dates and hCG count dont match up? If its on my dates you would think that they could see something on the U/S already right?

Jeanette- it sounds like you just ovulated late and can't go by your LMP. Going by your LMP will just set you for let down. Your numbers are going up just great and maybe you did catch it real early and the bleeding was implantation bleeding. Are you still bleeding now? How long did it last, etc.? Anyhow, it sounds to me like you are just under 3 weeks from conception right now (just under 5 weeks gestation)... Also, you can't see anything in the uterus until your HCG hits 2000. 2 weeks after ovulation my HCG was 134. 2 days after that it was at 370. So, it would have been 2.5 weeks for my HCG to be about where yours is. Could you have conceived 2.5 weeks before Jan. 16th? That would put you conceiving right before new years? Your numbers are going up, so that is good. Oh... and with my numbers that sounds like yours if you did conceive right before new years, is a great pregnancy and I am now 24 weeks. So, keep your head up and stay strong. :)

Daniella, thank you for your comment. It makes me feel better. I am so worried because when I use an internet due date calculator to determine how far along I am with my LMP, it says like 6 1'2 weeks. Thats scary to know, considering nothing can be seen. Well, concieveing right before new years sound about right. Since the sac can't be seen does it mean it doesn't exist yet? Do you think that my irregular period could have thrown my dates off? Since June, I ovulated usually the last week of the month. December was the first time my period came so soon. Sorry for being so freaked out but we have been trying to concieve for 6 months and then it finally happened, last week they told me I most likely had a miscarriage, and this week they say I am still pregnant. I don't know what to think. I am hoping and praying that Its just that I ovulated and concieved late.

Jeanette- the reason they said you probably had a m/c is because your numbers and your LMP didn't match and you were bleeding... has the bleeding stopped?? Well, your numbers are going up, so you truly may have just ovulated late. Also, not seeing a sac, doesn't mean there isn't one there (not at all) your numbers are going up and not down, so thats a high possiblity that the sac IS there.. just not big enough to be seen. See, when you are very early the size of it is the size of the tip of a ball point pen. SOOO tiny. Each week makes such a difference for the cell division. Hardly any ultrasounds can pick up a gestational sac before your HCG is 2000. I've heard of them faintly picking up a tiny sac at an HCG of 1500 with good equipment. The rate your HCG is going up, you should be able to see a sac in a week. Whens your next scan?? Try this site out __> www.ob-ultrasound.net/

Also, you can ask for progesterone cream like Crinone to help keep your uterus lining strong and keep your HCG up. Those 2 hormones work together and progesterone supplements don't hurt at all.
