Just wanted to let everyone know that they could not find anything in the uterus - I already knew - I did not have any symptoms since last Friday - especially my tongue - It was tingling from the hormones - and it had competely stopped last Friday - now I just wait for the river of red to start getting much worse and I have been told to expect cramps - maybe worse the normal. Just what I f---ing need right. I pray that everything works out for all of you - and remember just because your hcg number starts out low does not mean you will miscarry as long as they keep doubling every 48 - 72 hrs it should be fine - I will check in on this site in a few days and update. Good luck to all.

Hi Teresa, I would ask to be monitored more closely, at least until they find out if it is ectopic. I just went trhough one that ruptured 2 months ago and it was a real awakening. But if your cramps get worse or go to new areas in your abdomen or you feel faint, go to the ER right away, I ignored all my symptoms because my doc had ordered a D&C because it didnt show up as an ectopic and I thought everything was fine, except for the pain lol Take care, I'm sorry your going through this, and I hope all goes well

Anyone who has suffered miscarriage should read this book... Coming to Term : Uncovering the Truth About Miscarriage by Jon Cohen http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0618277242/ref=ord_cart_shr/103-8498590-0392602?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance ...After Cohen and his wife suffered multiple miscarriages, he decided to research miscarriage, a topic about which little is commonly known. He found that the medical community offers surprisingly scanty information about what causes what is also called spontaneous abortion. He spoke with more than 100 women, interviewed dozens of medical and scientific experts, and pored over pages of data. What he learned, as presented in this sensitively written, reader-friendly book, is both frustrating and encouraging. Despite hundreds of so-called miracle treatments and tricks, for which hopeful couples pay dearly, experts confess that no one can say with any certainty what causes and, more important, what might prevent most miscarriages. Hence, Cohen cautions against accepting the unsubstantiated claims of well-meaning pract_tioners. On the other hand, statistics show, he says, that the odds of a woman who has suffered several miscarriages carrying a fetus to term inexplicably increase with each miscarriage. A valuable resource. Ladies...I began this stream of messages over 9 months ago...and now I am happy to say I have a happy, healthy little boy. My numbers started at 33 - and was pretty much told to expect to miscarry. Here's proof that just because the numbers start low - doesn't mean you will necessarily miscarry. I read this board often and keep all of you in my prayers. I know the heartache of a miscarriage - something I wouldn't wish upon anyone. But once the end result is here - all the pain seems to minimize (though never forgotten). I wish all of you the very best!

See Good things and MIRACLES do happen....Laurie is example of that. To me I think getting HCG's bloodwork unless you are having problems bleeding etc. Is a mistake because it puts way too much stress on your pregnancy. Stress is the #1 cause for Miscarriage... Take it easy... and good luck to you all.

33 is not low mine was 26 and the dr said it was very high. if it goes down you do need to get tested just to make sure it stays up

Hello everyone and god bless everyone!! I have had 3 m/c in the past two years after having my tubal ligation reversed. I am pregnant now but HCG levels are low, 1st was 35, 2nd 55.8, 3rd 70.0, and todays 164.0, my progesterone has gone from 0.4 to 15.3 since I started the progesterone gel. It is incredible how many of us have this problem with low HCG levels. I am waiting to hear from my OB now and I wll keep all of you in my prayers!!

I, too, am experiencing the same problems. I miscarried last fall, and I had low HCG to start. The doctor a__sured me it was in the range and that everything was JUST FINE because it was within SOME RANGE (but at the very bottom of it). After I eventually miscarried, he pointed out that my HCG had been low and that was a pretty clear predictor for him. I am frustrated with the run around I have been getting from doctors and nurses who don't seem willing to give me an honest a__sessment of my situation. I am pregnant again -- my HCG at 18 dpo is 70, which again is at the bottom of the acceptable range. They all say that it is the doubling rate that is most important, but the truth is that a low HCG level usually means that the doubling will often turn out to be unfavorable (but they don't tell you that). So, I think that the focus on the doubling time is misleading since the HCG actually is a predictor of doubling time. I get checked for doubling rate on wednesday. I know that there are some success stories posted here, and I hope to be one of them, but it is too bad that we have to turn to an internet chat site to get the real scoop on what is happening with our bodies. Maybe my experience with doctors is atypical -- I hope so.

Geri - June 28

Hi everyone. I, like most of you, have read through the entire stream from Laurie on down to Kim... thank you all for your entries... they really do help. I too have a February 19 due date. I have had 2 m/c and we are praying that we will be able to finally meet one of our children. My last HCG quant done on 6/24 was 5013-- my progesterone is at a 28. First quant was done on 6/20 and was at 2300, than on 6/22 it was at 3400. The numbers are not doubling but the nurse says this happens in 15% of pregnancies. She seems to think my numbers aren't bad... but that doubling thing really plays a number on your mind. I did have a fetal ultrasound yesterday and we were able to see a baby and see and hear the heartbeat-- what a moment! Unfortunately, I've had that moment only to eventually lose the baby. I am very concerned and trying so desperately to be positive. I am experiencing a clear discharge and again the nurse says that is nothing to worry about-- what do you think? Is there no way to medically increase hcg once you are pregnant to sustain pregancy?

Roselie - June 28

Hi everyone, well yeaterday when I heard from the NP she told me to see the DR in the office today to schedule a D&E because my HCG level was so low (164). I worried all night and was not satisfied with that answer. I saw the MD today and he said I may be earlier into the pregnancy than the NP thinks and he wants me to keep getting HCG levels drawn to see if they continue to go up. They have only gone up since 6/17 when I had the first one so I keep my fingers crossed, I go for another tommorrow(6/29) The Dr said with the number being that low I may have caught this pregnancy at the very start since I took a preg test on 5/30 and it was negative and took another on 6/17 and it was positive. Just keep on top of your situation and if you think somehting that you are being told is not the right thing to do or you have more questions get a second opinion, I did and now have to leave the rest in god's hands. My only thought all day has been what if I had a D&E done and I was earlier in my pregnancy than I thought, I culd of ruined my chances of carrying this pregnancy. Ask questions or second opinions before just taking drastic measures!!!

I lost my baby this past weekend, saw the doc. today, she is so great, she said to wait at least 3 months before trying again. what happens if I get pregnant before the 3 months?
