hey rachel, im still baffled by your story, i honestly couldnt say about the growth, but i can say that when doctors say its not a viable pregnancy there more wrong than right, have you had a look on the internet for sizes of the fetus and things to expect, have a look and see what you come up with, sorry your no further forward xx take care xx

Rachel...did they check your hcg levels again today? If they did, & they are continuing to drop then that's not a good sign but if they are rising..I believe there is still hope especially since the sac is growing even if not at the expected rate. Hang in there...I know it's easier said than done. The uncertainty is torture, I know...we all do, but your not alone. We're all pulling for you & hoping for the best. Good Luck. Unfortunately, this pregnancy stuff is not always black & white. I just came back from the Dr. myself...had a faint positive test this morning & another faint + again at the dr. office. Just waiting now for hcg levels to come back. I'm praying for a good outcome this time. 'Tis the season of Hope, right? I tell ya if this works, it will be the best Christmas gift I ever received. XOXO baby dust sprinkles to everyone.

hey thanks ladies, i did have my hcg levels checked, and yes they continue to fall, i am gutted, but as long as it is still there, there is a glimmer of hope. I cannot understand why the sac would grow while the levels drop? I expect the worst now, but the hospital will not hear the last of it

Hi ladies...I have a similar story and would appreciate any advice anyone has to offer...had s_x on 11/20 for the first time in a while with fiance then on Mon 11/21 I woke up to really bad cramping and just a__sumed I was getting my period (which is never regular). I wasn't bleeding very much and it stopped after about 3 days and was followed by a little spotting. The following Monday I ended up in the ER for unrelated reasons and while running some routine bloodwork (including a qualitative (yes/no) preg test) found out I was preg. They did a quant_tative test after that but the hcg # was only 20. When I was discharged they told me to follow up in 2 days which I did. The second test was still 20, which the Dr said could have been due to the fact that 2 different labs ran them. So I'll skip ahead...I had another test on Th 12/1 and Fr 12/2 which came out 22 and 25 respectively. Obviously my number is not doubling and I have to wait 5 more days for another test and then of course the weekend for the results. I am wondering if the number starts doubling right away or if it raises slowly to a certain point before it starts doubling since I could really only be less than 2 weeks? I don't have a lot of hope, but wish I just knew SOMETHING. I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

Susan, all you can do is keep taking the beta tests. Mine started out low as well. Went from a 7, to an 8, and then all the way up 2 a 686. I just got my last readings today and my numbers have more than doubled. Some women's hcg #'s just rise slower than others. Now I'm excited because I get to have my first u/s on Dec 16th. My whole issue is that I got my cycle the day after I took the Hpt. I still don't know how far along I am... lol and I don't wanna wait until the 16th to find out!

Nicole - congratulations! I can't wait to have my first u/s too, whether its with this pregnancy or not. I hope you're right about the number going up slowly! I look forward to reading your update.

I desperately need some advice. IVF transfer of 2 frozen blasts (medicated frozen cycle). 11 days post transfer my beta was 27. 2 days later 23. Told me to stop my estrogen and progesterone which i did.4 days later Beta went to 79. 4 days after that B went to 300. Loc_m RE re-started my estrogen and progesterone pessaries again after being off them for 8 days!! 4 days later still beta is 654. I am now considered 6 weeks pg but my RE says beta is too low and the initial lack of rise means it's not a viable pg. Told me to stop meds today. I asked if i could continue so in 4 days they'll do another beta and US. He says by continuing meds I'll have a higher risk of having a DNC or a shot for the miscarriage rather that stopping now.
Have i got any hope at all?????

la... im not really in the know with ivf and all that, but i do know that how ever you get pregnant everyone has a chance, so dont be to worried.. alot of us on here were told we would not have viable pregnancies and that we would loose the baby and some of us did and some of us didnt. i cant put you in a clear picture and say yes your going to be fine, all i can say is take it with a pinch of salt when doctors say its not viable, just relax and try not to worry ( easier said than done i know ) good luck

Its all i can say is the BASTARDS, excuse the language but i am very upset and angry. it surley they wont hear the end of it, i going in tomorrow to have a d&c, i wish the rest of you all the luck.

Hi. I just found this site and it has helped me. I had IVF done and last week found out that at 11dp3dt my hcg number was 15. I a blood test taken two days later and my hcg number was 24. I then had my blood test taken 3 days later and my number was 35. The nurse said that it does not look good. I am going in tomorrow for my 4th blood test. I am so stressed. My numbers are not doubling but they are going up. Is there any hope!

Hello, I have no idea how far along I am. My doctor does not seem very optimistic since my HCG was 33 on 1/9 and 37 on 1/11. But I am trying to stay hopeful. I go back again today, so we will see.
