I went to the dr. 2 weeks ago and there was no heartbeat. My last mp was in Apr. Going by my last mp I should have been 13 wks but they measured the baby to be about 6 wks. I do not have regular periods and I told them that but they automatically wanted to do d&c. I have to go back to the dr this week but they are still pushing for the d&c. I haven't had any cramping at all and I don't want to do the d&c. Has anything like this happened to anyone? I am really scared...

Jenna- I'm sorry to hear you are going through this. You need to be firm with your doctor and tell him you want another ultrasound in another two weeks. Even at 6 wks it is hard to see a heartbeat because of how tiny the baby is. In the mean time ask your doctor to check your hcg levels and progesterone. If it is a 6 wk pregnancy the hcg levels should come up to be around 6 wks. If your doctor is not listening to you then you need to find another doctor. I hope it all works out for you and I will be praying for you. God Bless!

i went to the doctor yesterday,i was cramping i was really scared.my dr. said there was no heartbeat im 7 weeks.they want to dissolve the baby, but i dont want to.what is d&c?they dont know whats wrong,i have to go back in 48 hours.my pregnancy test still shows positive.

Tasha just because a preg test still shows up positive doesn't mean that the pregnancy is viable. Pregnancy tests go off the amount of HCG in your blood which can take some time to go back to where it won't register on a pregnancy test. When you have a D&C you are generally put under and they go in and sc___pe the walls of the uterus to make sure that all tissue has been removed. I would wait atleast one or two more weeks before you agreed to have a D&C done. I had no heartbeat at 6 weeks but at 8 weeks it was there I am not 13 weeks and so far so good.

brandi when you were 6 weeks did you see your baby,we didnt see no baby.they didnt,im scared but have faith.their going to check my hcg level tomorrow.1st it was 166.0 2nd it was 469.2.do you know how high hcg level go?

brandi - August 10

Tasha- Your HCG levels go to somewhere in the 300,00 mine at 6 weeks was 25,400. During my 6 week ultrasound we saw the gest sac and the yolk sac. At my 8 week scan we saw baby and heartbeat

Tasha a pregnancy test can stay positive up to 2 or 3 weeks after miscarrying because the levels take time to go down to 0. A positive test does not mean a healthy pregnancy Im afraid. After my miscarriage it took a few weeks to get a negative test. If your levels are doubling though then that is a good sign-I hope the they find a heartbeat at your next scan.

i been going back and forth to the doctor, and my hcg levels1st was 166.0,2nd it was 469.2 ,3rd it was 579.0,it suppopse to double right,i go back in 6 days to do my hcg again.i'm 8 weeks and 1day.do your hcg suppose to be at a higher number in order to see the baby or hear the heartbeat?

i am 7 weeks pregnant and the docs could not find a h/b. without even telling me anything about it really they suggested a dc thing-- i know what it is now due to the comp, but they didnt even give me much hope that there would be a h/b in a week when im 8 weeks pregnant. why? has this happened to anyone-- im also diabetic, 21 and first pregnancy.

sarah- that's the way my first doc was too. they didn't want to do any more tests or ultrasounds. I changed docs and he was much better. they checked my hcg levels and had me do 2 more ultrasounds. Sometimes 6 or 7 weeks is too early. Tell them you want more tests done and if they don't want to do it then think about going to another doctor. good luck
