Jeanette~ How are you doing? From reading your posts, I see you've been through a lot like all of us. I was just wondering how you were feeling in this "waiting pattern" that a lot of us are in. I don't want you to get discouraged. You seem like an optimistic person. However, I know that disappointments are still hard to accept. Please let us know how your plans are coming and what direction your doctor is taking you in. I'd love to hear from you! Sasha~

You know what my getting preg the 2nd time was after having 3 dif Dr tell me no big deal it was very common for women to have fibroids and go thru preg without any problems hey they are the Drs they should know . Right . Well wrong. If I knew what I know now about fibroids I would have had the surgery first so if I can save someone from going thru what I went thru then at least something good would have come out of it. Now its the waiting time I am doing great. .....Sasha..... I too still have some pain on the side where the biggest fibroid was but mostly it right around the time of my period which is now light and almost pain free and I love it.I will love it even more when I dont have to deal with it for at least nine months My doc say with time it will go away. Its funny how every dr is different mine told me I can get off the pill and start ttc but I am going to wait at least 1 month

Thanks Jasp! I pray and hope that I don't have anymore complications once I do get pregnant. Now that the fibroids are gone, I'd hate to miscarry again yah know? And of course, I'd hate for the fibroids to start growing back all over again. We are hoping for a successful pregnancy or two - but we'll take it one day at a time. ....... ---I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing pain after a myo still. Thanks for sharing again! Keep us updated on your success!!! :) Sasha~

Lexie... Good luck tomorrow coming from someone who went thru it there is nothing to it. It will be over before you know it. I know its natural to worry but as long as you trust your dr and their ability you will be in good hands. Just thought I give you a few advise of what I found helpfull after the surgery. Move Move Move as soon as you can.I thought they were out of their mind when they told me I had to get out of bed the day of my surgery(I had it at 9am and by around 4pm it was time to move )It was painful at first , the mophine sure did help, but thats the best thing you can do for yourself. It gets easier the more you do it. I was out of the hos in 48hrs.You may also want to have underwear thats at least 1 size too big you dont want any pressure on your insition site. I had the bikni insition.Elastic and drawstrings pants are the best. You also need a ricliner since my first couple of days home I had to sleep on one cause the bed was too flat and it hurt to lay so flat and also you will need it for sitting cause the sofa was too low and it will hurt to sit and stand from it and yeah you need to drink lots and lots of water and have some prunes while you are at it this will help prevent UTI and Constipation which I was lucky I didnt get .Take it slow even after you come back home keep taking short little walks this will also help avoid the constipation and blood clots. I found out the longer I stayed still the more painful it was to move after.Good luck tommorrow try to get a good night rest .by this time tomorrow those mean fibroids will be out of you and you will be on your way to a great recovery thats my prayer for you

Hi Sasha... thanks for the posting re: me... I'm doing well, but you're right, the disappointment can be discouraging at times... interestingly, I'm 7 months post-myomectomy, have been trying to get pregnant every month since the myomectomy (including two weeks subsequent to the surgery) and unfortunately, nothing... on a happy note, however, (and this goes out to all the girls who are considering the surgery and/or are scheduled for it), the myomectomy was successful (removed 8 fibroids weighing two pounds total), recovery was normal (how bad could it have been if we were trying to get pregnant two weeks later), and last week I went for a second HSG (dye test) and my tubes were clear (same as the HSG before the myomectomy)... so... here's where it gets interesting... I'm 39, my tubes are clear, my uterus is in fine shape (thank God), my hormones are fine for my age, they detected 7-9 follicles during an ultrasound on Day 3 last week (RE commented that he was please with that), my periods are regular... need I go on... WELL - he finally went for a s____n a___lysis (three times in a 6 week period because he was in such DEEP denial) and the numbers are worse than horrible... frankly, there's not one good number to report... he's has three children (ages 21, 18, and 15) from a previous marriage, and while he's 50, I just didn't think he was the problem... now I'm wondering if he's the only problem (other than my age)... we're trying Clomid during days 3 through 7 (tonight's the last night) and then I have an ultrasound on Wednesday and an IUI sometime next weekend, I suppose... he has an appointment with a urologist on Thursday, but seems somewhat unwilling to do much about his situation beyond pooling once before the day of the IUI... the RE said that while all his numbers are awful, the morphology is the one that is probably going to prevent success with the IUI... so keep me in your prayers... I feel like I did everything I could do, and this business with his numbers is just another unexpected setback... I know IVF is always an option, but cost is, of course, a factor... then again, some things are priceless... hope you're well, Sasha... fill me in... Jeanette

Sasha777, No my original doctor didn't tell me my m/c was because of the fibroids. But prior to my m/c, I had two weeks of off and on debilitating pain. AND my water broke. That's how I m/c. No bleeding or spotting. So that was a giveaway. Dr. said it could have been due to a bacterial infection I developed, but its doubtful, because many women have infections during pregnancy and it normally only causes a problem at the end of the pregnancy. I went to see an infertility doctor after my m/c, two high-risk OBs, and a surgeon after my m/c, and three of the four deduced that one of my fibroids - pinging in the uterus close to a major blood supply - was the culprit.

Sasha777, One more thing. I'm conflicted about whether to get an HSG test before we start TTC. I had one last May, and it showed both of my tubes were completely closed. Impossible, since we conceived the good old fashioned way. The surgeon told me they just spasmed, which I guess is fairly common. So if the HSG shows that they are blocked again, I'm not sure if that would be because of scar tissue or if they just spasmed again. So I'm not sure. Guess I'll make that decision sometime early next year.

Hello eveyone..Big Congrats to Lexie who at this point should be high as a kite with a big smile on her face knowing the surgery is behind her! I'm so glad to see everyone on here posting..HOPEFUL..congrats on your c-section date..I'm so happy for you..time really does fly by..I wish you the best..MsMonet..how are you doing? Jeanette..I'm so sorry for this new dilema..but don't get discourage continue trying..we will all pray for your success..SASHA..at this point I don't think I have scar tissue or blocked tubes...I'm just being paranoidd..here is the deal..we started TTC in Sept..but we or at least I wasn't serious about it..then due to scheduling conflicts we weren't able to try for Oct..we tried this cycle..more like trying now :) so to be fair we just started "really" trying in November..although I'm serious about it and I chart my Ovulation..I don't tell him that because I don't want him getting stressed..I won't be concerned with not getting prego until Feb..if nothing then I will go see my doc again..here is something I tell myself so I don't jump off a bridge if I'm not pregnant after this cycle...(maybe it is best I don't get pregnant until Jan so I can drink during the holiday) If that is not the dumbest thing in the world I have ever tried to make myself believe..1) I would give anything to be pregnant 2) I'm not even a big drinker..1 drink is all I usually have..but whatever helps to take the pressure off...Take care everyone...

It will come when you at least expect it. Just trust in him, he has a plan for you. :-)

Hi Jeanette: Wow. You're going through a lot I see. Well, my dad always said, "A setback is a setup for a comeback." Things will always work out in the end. -----Now tell me just how the clomid may work with the IUI or IVF. Sorry- I need more knowledge on this one.

Hi healing~I'm going to go on and try without the hsg for 6 months and see what happens. I've heard of tubes closing with spasms. One of my tubes was closed and we got pregnant with the one that was open. I guess I'm going out there on faith and will see what happens. April will be here before you know it. :)
