NevousOne-Thank you it is one of the saddest birthday, because my due date was Dec22nd and it is very close. I suposed to be still pregnant. But hopefully God has a plan for us and one day we will be all happy, because I really believe every women on earth deserves to hold a healthy baby. So just hang in there. I saw my Dr.yesterday and he was very positive about the surgery, he said it all depends on the locations of fibroids. He says even formation of scarr tissue which can block tubes mostly depends on the locations of fibroids. He was telling me all this positive stories of womens having babies after myomectomies. :-)

Happy Birthday katerinak! I TOTALLY understand how you feel. My birthday was in July and I cried at midnight on the day of my birthday. I was miserable all day. But please know that God didn't take you this far to leave you, and that everyone on this board knows exactly how you feel. Many people "out there" don't know what its like to lose a baby and the uncertainties of fibroids, but we all do here. Try to smile and sing and think to the future.

Down, not Out - November 29

Hi Everyone . . . I stumbled across this site a while ago and I'm so grateful I did. Your stories really helped me get through some rough times. I didn't know anyone who had been through my experience and it's really comforting to know I am not alone. Here's my story -- I was diagnosed with fibroids a few years ago while I was being treated for an ovarian cyst. Because the fibroids were tiny, my doctor said that they didn't need to be treated, we'd just keep an eye on them. Fast forward to this June. I got pregnant and my fibroids ballooned in size. I miscarried at 11 weeks and my doctor recommended a myomectomy. I had the surgery on Nov 7 and my doctor says we can start TTC in Feb. I know that the future holds no guarantees, but I'm wondering if acupuncture will increase my odds. Does anyone have experience with using acupuncture to control fibroids/prevent miscarriage? Thanks for spreading the hope!

Hi all... I just want to ask ... is there anything I should do before my surgery. I am schedule in two weeks. I have been taking vitamin c and iron pills per my doctors request. Is there anything else I should be doing????

hH Nervous one, yes having s_x! as you will have about a month of abstinence hehehe. Apart from that preparing your bunker as you are going to spend about two weeks at home. I bought the three seasons of desperate housewives, and spent a week watching them. I am joking, but try to find activities that you can do while resting, it´s important not to move much, apart from the short strolls during the first two weeks.

Hi Nervous One. I'm 3 weeks into my recovery and I wanted to pa__s on a couple of tips a good friend who had a myomectomy this summer told me. She recommended that I buy a bunch of "granny" underwear and sweat pants without elastic so that nothing rubbed against my incision. I hope this helps!

DAMAJUANA.... LMAO.. I needed a little laughter.... I cant believe you wrote that... lol but I have been.. trust me... Thanks....lol Down not out.. thanks I will go tonight and buy some. About sleeping... is it as uncomfortable as I am imagining???

damajuana - November 30

Hi Nervous one, But it´s true, keep practicing otherwise you will loose training hehe. To sleep it´s uncomfortable while you are at the hospital, because they are putting the sedatives on your arm and you have to sleep on your front, and that´s not comfortable at all. Once they take them away you can sleep on your side and it doesn´t hurt. The first night I only slept because I was really tired, I couldn´t sleep the night before because I was nervous so that made me sleep like a log. I am used to lie on my stomach and I tried to do so the second night, and I could, but when I woke up I had bruises from the scar string. So I recommend you not to try it, until you are at home.

Hi Sasha, I haven't had the chance to write anything in awhile. We've been do busy because of the holiday's. Well, I've had my 2nd full period and as of last month start completing the temperature test every morning. Yesterday I went to see my fertility doctor and he said he don't need to see me anymore, unless we don't get pregnant within 2 months. He told us not to try until 3/1/08 instead of 2/1, wish is fine. He reviewed my chart and it showed that I ovulated last month per my daily temperature. Funny how high it spikes up when you are ovulating! I can't wait for march. My doctor never put me on birth controls or anything else. He said from his experience the only reason we miscarried is because of the fibroid was completely blocking everything. Funny how most doctors don't want to say that, but he gave me a graph and everything of how it was competing with the baby. So now, I'm pretty much with a regular doctor which he recommended and just have to wait. He told me to take prenatal pills and exercise. I just started the prenatal pills today. Down, excellent suggestion! I had my surgery on 8/24/07 and the big panties and loose pants helped out a lot!

Jeanette - December 2

Ms. Monet... how exciting, but can't they wait one more day so you can deliver on my birthday?!!!... just kidding, I love February birthdays, but be prepared if you're from the Northeast (namely, NY) - every birthday party included a snowfall... I loved it, but my mom would get stressed out each year!... lots of luck - that's all GOOD stuff... as for me, I responded very well to Clomid and my first IUI was on Friday... unfortunately, we were told that there was only a 20% chance for a pregnancy - apparently, his s____n numbers aren't improving... I was excited about the compliments I heard from my new RE regarding my post-myomectomy uterus as well as my "healthy" ovaries... after all this time of blaming myself, it was nice to hear good news... so ladies, myomectomies can/do leave you in good shape... anyway, I'm thrilled for you, Ms. Monet.

MsMonet - December 2

KAT-Hello and thanks so much for the inspiration. I endure!!! Seems like so many odds came against me but I still made it through. In the beginning, I started out with no fibroids then I was told that I had four since the start of pregnancy... Then I was told that my fibroids would cause so many problems. Perhaps, it did with the bleeding episodes once, sometimes twice a month.... I was told that there may not be enough room for the babies to grow because the fibroids would be so big... I was told that the fibroids would steal most of the blood supply from the babies... I just took a Glucose Test, last wk. My score came back elevated so I have to take the 3 hour test. I pray that I don't have Gestational Diabetes. My diet is actually good. I don't understand all of this... I was perfectly healthy before being preggo. JOKER-Originally, I was told Feb 18th minus a month (for twins) which would be Jan 18th now my doctor believes I can go further along.... I am so excited and I just can't wait. I heard that the fibroids are supposed to shrink after pregnancy... I pray they do. Man, I just had a MYo in Oct 2006. Well, God has brought me this far... I gotta trust more.. :O) JEANETTE-I will see what I can do OK. :o) Oh, wow. Yes, you are right. We most likely will have snow. It's funny. We just got snow, yesterday. I woke up at 5am and looked out the window. It was so beautiful. Remain positive, girl. You never know what will come from this. I will pray for you and dh!!!
