Hi Katarinak1, Congrats, you are almost there! I had the c section at 37 weeks, and I really didn´t feel any pain at all. It is completely different from myomectomy believe me. Are you having the epidural anestesy?. I had it and recommend it. You recover easily from it and you see everything. Also you recover gradually, you start feeling gradually so you feel almost any pain. The best for you and your baby who will soon be here!.

Hey how is everyone? It's been awhile since I posted but looking at the site looks like it's been awhile for everyone else as well. How are you ladies doing? I am doing well. Set up the nursery and washed clothes just waiting for Amaya's arrival. I am scheduled for a c-section on August 26. However, I asked the dr. if he can do it on the 24th or 25th just waiting to hear back from him. Looks like we are all lined up for around the sametime. It's just a blessing to know that we've been through what we have been through and God has and is making a way for us. Just have to give him all the praise. God Bless.

Hello Everyone, Yes it does look like we're all due around the same time but it looks like I'll be the last one in August to deliver :-( since my c-section isn't scheduled til August 28th. I have to tell this story just in case any of you have or will experience this within the next few days. Yesterday while at work (yes I'm still working full time because my dr is being cruel to me and won't take me out!) anyway I started feeling contractions every 10 minutes. I already had my weekly appointment scheduled for that afternoon so I just went in a few minutes early for my appointment and advised them that I had been contracting every 10 minutes for a couple of hours. I had been timing them. They weren't extremely painful just felt like someone was squeezing my insides very, very hard then slowly releasing the grip. Anyway, everything that I read and everyone I talk with about it said that it wasn't braxton hicks because there's no consistency or regularity in braxton hicks contractions... (they would not be every 10 minutes exactly for 2 hours straight). So I got to the drs office and was checked and yes I was 2cm dialated and the dr could feel the baby's head right there and I'm 80% effaced so I'm thinking... YEAH, I get to go have my baby today right?! I mean I'm having a c-section due to the myomectomy so I figured that they would not let me get too far into labor before delivering the baby. Well, my dr said... "since you're only 36 weeks 3 days lets just see what your body does on it's own for the next few days... lets see if it can hold on to the baby til you're a little bit farther along!!!" He said that if I were 38 weeks he would have sent me to the hospital right then and prepped me for c-section but since I'm still early 36 weeks he just wanted to see what happens. He also said that every womans body is different and if I went home last night and the contractions got closer together then he said that I could return to the hospital and they would go ahead and do the c-section but he said that my body may relax and let me labor for a few more days or even a couple more weeks?! I left the drs office upset and confused. He told me that I was having contractions (not braxton hicks) and I had never heard of contractions coming and going and lasting for days or weeks? I thought that once they got to 10 minutes apart that would be it and I would go and have the baby?! I had already told my coworker that I didn't think that I would be back to work and I had already called my mom and told her to get ready to head into town and I had called my sister and my husband took off work last night and we're all ready only for me to be sent home! And, not to mention... my dr still didn't take me out of work and my boss is not very compa__sionate or understanding of child birth so as long as I'm not bleeding or have water leaking out of me he expects me at work so I'm sitting here at work this morning. :-( I'm still having minor contractions but I would not say that they are 10 minutes apart... they are irregular and it's actual cramping now not just the hardening of my stomach. So I guess that there's still hope that they will strengthen back up and I'll go into true labor and have my son soon? But I've decided to just keep my mouth shut and not tell anyone but my husband because it's very frustrating especially to have to come back in to work today after telling my coworker that I was having contractions and a__sumed that I would be having the baby yesterday! I know that this sounds silly but I actually cried on the way into work this morning because I a__sumed that I would be in the hospital this morning holding my son... not driving to work... :-( Oh well.. in due time I guess... KB and KM, I can't believe how close you guys are to bringing those little babies home! Not to mention how close your due dates are. KB just hold on a little longer:) I take it they took you off of bed rest. Did you have to take any medications? Did you stop contracting and now have started again? I have my final post opp appointment in two weeks and I can TTC next month. I have been charting and my temperature doesn't do what it is supposed to. I hope I don't have any other issues arising. I am nervous and excited. It seems like such a rocky road to get there and you still don't know what will happen. I plan on updating my story as time goes on just so the experience is out there. I have googled this subject a million times and this tread is really the most informative/hopeful of them all. It helps to talk to people that have gone through the same crazy situation and know that it worked out in the end. I wish you girls the best of luck. SJT

KB & KM congrats on your little babies! I know I have been away for a very long time and you probably don't remember me but I remember you ladies. Nothing much has been going on for me. I had my myo 2 years ago almost 3 now and I am still not prego..how frustrating! Part if it had to do with dh schd and the other part with not really wanting to try and fail..but now we are seeing a specialist due to dh very low sperm count. I've been taking Clomid for 2 months (taking a break this month) and tried IUI in July but that didn't work out..not really sure why since the stuff was right there..I guess they didn't like each other or wasn't sure what to do :-) I'm seeing a new doctor later this month and hopefully they will be better at treating me than the other doctors..[--- other docs didn't seem interested in my overall health. I do have one good thing... I don't have any fibroids inside my Uterus..after 3 years thats a good thing..plus the ones I do have are small and insignificant and not connected to any major blood supply. Sorry to be away for so long and come back and just go on and on about myself :-) I'm wishing everyone the best and I will try to be in touch more often. I do like the new page..well..new to me

KB&KM, we are scheduled for c-section 26th, 27th and 28th. That is very interesting. I am still hanging there. Nothing new, that is good I guess. Two more weeks to go. Started to shop basic stuff for baby.

KB - August 12

Good morning everyone, Sjt yes I was on full bedrest for 2 weeks back at 27 weeks due to preterm contractions then I was released back to work for 1/2 days. Then for some odd reason these last 3 weeks of my pregnancy my dr felt that it was ok to send me back to work full time. I didn't/don't agree but without a note from the dr my boss expects me at work so I really had no choice but to come back. I started back full time last Friday and I started having contractions on Monday so there really does seem to be a correlation (at least for me) between being physically active all day at work and the onset of contractions. I went to the dr on Monday and although I was contracting I was not given any medication. My dr told me that at 36 weeks he would not stop the labor process. He wants to see how my body will progress on it's own and as soon as they get to 5 minutes apart consistently then the c-section will be performed. If I actually make it to the 28th then they will definitely go ahead with the c-section that date. I'm still preggers and still having contractions off and on (some really painful) but they just aren't consistent enough yet to go to the hospital so I'm just trying to work through them when they do come. It's so sporadic now that I'm wondering if it's just very strong braxton hicks mixed in with cramping? Joker it's so great to hear from you! I read your post right after the loss of my last pregnancy in 08 and prior to deciding to go through with the Myo. KM helped to talk me through it too! The two of you and your stories really helped me feel comfortable moving forward with my decision to proceed and now I'm litterally days away from holding my son. What an amazing journey! SJT hang in there and I'm sure that you and Joker will both be following in our footsteps very, very soon with babies on the way! God bless and you're all in my thoughts and prayers! KB

KB, I'm so glad you went through with the surgery and everything is working out great for you. Since you are doing fine it is probably best for you to be at work..time probably goes by real fast..unless you are doing something really boring..but I bet at this point everything seems really boring! hang in there you are almost at the finish line :-)

AJ2009+ - August 12

KB, KM & Katarinak1, Congrats! It's wonderful to hear of your success stories. They continue to encourage me. All the best with your c-sections! sjt23 - I hope your final post-op appointment goes well. I had my post-op 6-weeks after my surgery and am allowed to TTC again, since there was no significant incision made to the uterus. So, we will start to try sometime this month. I'm nervous and excited also! I look forward to hearing your updates. I'll keep you guys updated as well. AJ2009

KM Williams - August 20

Hello everyone, KB I am sorry they didn't admit you into the hospital but it's just not time yet. I know how you feel I was hoping the baby would come this week but I guess not. Joker it's been a long time since we heard from you how is everything? Katarinak looks like we are all in the same ball park with the c-sections. How are you feeling about it? I am extremely nervous been around children but never had to take care of an infant. AJ2009 and Sjt good luck on the ttc we've all been there I hope it happens fast for the two of you. It seemed like forever for my husband and I when we were trying. God Bless to all.

Hi all! How are you all doing? About c section believe me that you don´t have to be scared or nervous. You don´t feel almost any pain. It´s just impressive but the moment is so but so beatiful that you don´t have time to think about it. It´s like going into a hotel where you check in with your luggage but get out with your baby. This surgery has nothing to do with myomectomy. The c section hurts ten time less than the myomectomy. And also the anestesia is different. You start feeling little by little and that is much more bearable. The best of the lucks to you all!.

jesca - August 23

Hi everyone, I haven't been in touch in ages. I thank God for all your lives and your babies'.I fell pregnant before I could have the myomectomy so I went ahead with the pregnancy. Everything was ok until last week when I had these awful pains. I'm 17 weeks today. Has anyone had them before. The Dr said its called red degeneration of fibriods. Thanks all.

sjt23 - August 23

Hi jesca, I am a little curious how the dr. knows for sure you are having red degeneration? I lost a baby around 20 weeks with terrible back pain and pain over the area of the largest fibroid. The doctors couldn't tell me if I lost it due to fibroids or IC. I had the myo 6 months afterward. The specialist who did the myomectomy told me that he couldn't even tell if the fibroid had degenerated with it in his hand. With that in mind don't believe everything the dr. tells you. When I called the dr. about my pain they told me "no problem" I was just growing. Two days later I lost my daughter. I am not trying to scare you because it really could be nothing. I am just saying that if you really are having red degeneration they need to keep a close eye on you. If you are still having the bad pain you should maybe go to the doctor again. Have them check your cervix as well. I know it is not healthy for me to scare anyone but, I air on the cautious side. No one told me to be careful...they told me to suck it up its nothing and if I wanted to go to the doctor I could but.... I have also read/talked to lots of women having fibroid pain the entire pregnancy and delivering healthy babies at term. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Hey KM & KatarinaK1, Just wondering if you guys did/are doing anything special this weekend? I'm super excited that my son will be here this Friday and will finally have a child in my life and home. I told DH that we needed to celebrate this weekend by doing something very special just for the two of us. For the past couple of weeks we've been cleaning and preparing the house and buying things for baby. I need to do some last minute cleaning (and washing clothes) to get our bedroom prepared for baby and I to recover after the hospital and after the c-section but I really wanted to do something special this weekend with just me and hubby. Yesterday DH did some yard work so I thought ok today we'll have a special day so I got up and cooked a huge special breakfast and now DH refuses to get up and says that he just wants to sleep in and watch cartoons all day! DH and I used to make 3am runs to the waffle house and just silly things like that so I got up at 3am this morning and tried to get him to do that with me because I know that we won't be able to do anything like that with a baby. He was already up anyway watching cartoons as usual but again I couldn't get him to budge. I've been confined to the house basically cleaning for two weeks straight so I don't want to be here today and am pretty dissappointed that he just won't go along with me and participate in a special outting or something. Staying in I'm just tempted to continue with cleaning and washing while he's asleep on the livingroom floor. Just wondering if you guys decided to do anything special this weekend with your significant others prior to our babies coming this week? Hopefully you guys have had better luck than me?! KB

KB - August 23

Hi Jesca, My story is the exact same as sjt23's except my loss was at 21 weeks. Again I want to reiterate what she said that so many women with fibroid pain go on to deliver happy healthy babies and make it through the pain just fine but I would also be mindful and just very aware. Don't allow yourself to get to the point of sever pain before going to l&d or your dr and demanding answers and a close watch on your pregnancy. My drs told me that my fibroids had definitely started to degenerate. I'm not sure if they can look and tell or not but I had my myomectomy 4 months after my loss and that's when they told me that the fibroids had definitely begun the degerative process. But same as sjt23 my drs to this day continue to tell me that they're not 100% sure that it was the degenerative process that caused the loss or something else but all signs point to that. I haven't had any fibroid issues at all with this pregnancy (although I do have one fibroid left) and have made it to 38 weeks with no real issues so it leads me to believe that it was degenerative fibroids that caused my loss. But again, every womans pregnancy is different and so is every womans body so my suggestion is to just be mindful and demand proper care. If you feel that something isn't right or the pain gets too bad then stand up for yourself and your baby. Don't let fear or the drs or nurses prevent you from getting pain relief and the care that you deserve. Take care and you and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers. KB

KB, I just had to laugh at your last post. My husband is 31 and plays video games way too much.
