I am just a concern person as well.I had my tubes tied 7 years ago, and I have not had a period since the end of Feb.begining of Mar. and here it is May. M y b___st hurt very bad and all I do is sleep, eat,I have gained about 10 lbs. in the last two months.I had a ultra sound done last week but nothing showed up so I just wanted to know can you get pregnant even though my tubes are tied?I have heard that they are supose to grow back after you last child turns 5 to 7 years old and I know that is true because I had a friend that got a 5 month old baby and me and her oldest child is the same age and her last child and my baby is the same age so if someone can respond I will be more than happy to take advice.

I did go to the dr yesterday and I am NOT pg - In AF started this morning. My dr has ordered a bunch of tests and is thinking this might be pre-menopause..i am too young for that (only 39). Since this has happened I am now more than ever thinking about getting the tubal reversed. Has anyone here done that? Kimberly - You could be pg, have you taken a pg test yet? Texasgirl - If nothing showed up on the ultrasound I would suspect you are not pg..have your dr test your hormon levels.

Well went to Dr. this morning. Urine test positive. Cervix is closed. They drew blood since I had a tubal in Oct 1999. Have to go back Thur to draw more blood to test HCG levels, then an ultrasound on Friday. So some anxiety lifted off my shoulders but still not clear of the fact that I may have to lose the baby if it is in the tube. Hubby is going to Dr. to talk about a vasectomy. Good luck to all!

this is to Paula: your pg test is Pos??? congrats.. I hope all goes well for you .. also if you dont mind, what type of tubal ligation did you have.. Cut & Tied or... cut, tied and burnt?? and what were your symptoms before hand if you dont mind my asking??

Paula - May 17

MBU - I'm not sure what kind I had...never asked and never saw med records. Be sure I am going to get them because Dr. at the time was adamant he didn't want to fix me so he might have just tied them and they came undone. Symptoms - nausea, swollen tender b___sts, extreme fatigue, darkening nipples, tender abdomen...missed period! Normal symptoms that I continued to ignore becasue I was fixed and there was no a 99% chance I would never be able to get pregnant again. My husband wants to hunt the Dr. down and huh, give him a good talkin too (with his fists).

MBU - I know us women hate this question, but how old are you? You may be experiencing signs of menopause. That's what I was hoping for even though I am only 28. I have 2 kids and was about to go back to college and my youngest starts school. We were looking forward to no daycare bills. Still don't know if it is a viable pg but will love this child just as much as my other 2. Just gonna take a little while to have a pity party for my lost (no...put off college degree). Take a home pg test. If it comes back positive go to dr. If it is negative wait a week and if you are still experincing symptoms then go see a dr anyways with your concerns and symptoms. Write them all down that's what I did.

to paula.. lol nah Idont mind answering.. I am 42.. and yea the first thing I thought of was menopause.... lol.. but none of the symptoms have added up... I have done so many web searches on here for menopause lol.. I even checked into peri menopause.. I am under the mild category.. anyway, I guess I will just chalk it up to "body changes.." I did take a hpt on this past sunday morn.. was neg.. so.... thank u so very much.. and I wish u all the best...

i have not gotten a go answer yet i'm still lost

Paula - May 18

Shamical - what's ur question?

Dena - May 18

shamical ... I would go in again. Tell them of your symptoms and your past. Remember they work for you . Not the other way around. Even if you are not pregnant they should be checking out the pain. Not normal to me. I hear its harder to get a good hcg level if you continue to have your period.

Karyn & Kristin - I am going to be going in about 3 weeks (hopefully June 18th) to have a tubal reversal. I haven't had my period since February, since we found out that the $$ would be coming to go to Dr. Perez. I don't know if it's that my weight is up again (I have low thyroid that I need to get treated), or if it was just thinking so much about pregnancy and babies!! Anyway, if you have any questions about reversals, I would LOVE to answer them for you. You might want to check out the webpage www.riobravoreversal.com - there are FAQ's, costs, and most importantly, PAGES of testimonials and pictures of new little 'reversal babies'! If you've ever contacted a doctor about a reversal, and they gave you a bunch of ha__sle about it not usually working, and weight limitations, and paying tons of $$ to see if you're even a "candidate" - then you HAVE to check out Dr. Perez's website. That is all nonsense. Also, pay very little attention to what is written in your medical charts or what you were told about what method was used to tie your tubes - almost always the reports have NOTHING to do with what really went on in there. Turns out that way all the time! So, don't worry if you've read or been told that what they did will prevent you from having a reversal, because it almost NEVER will! If you truly want to be open to the blessing of more children, there is no reason why you can't! Tracey R. tuppermouse@sbcglobal.net

Has anyone here been pregnant after a tubal but still had their period and carried a baby to term? I have all of the symptoms of pregnancy, especially an enlarged abdominal area, but am still having my period. This seems like such a stupid question to ask since I am still having periods but have been checked for everything but pregnancy. I am scared at the thought of being pregnant again but am open to whatever Gods will may be. Please pray for his will to be done. Thanks!!

Cindy - May 19

Hi All, It is wonderful to see people in the same boat as I. I am 31 and had a tubal done 9 years ago. In december I didn't have a period at all and up till now I have been spotting when I am supposed to have my period. I didn't think much of it because I thought well I am just having lighter periods no big deal. My hubby told me in Feb. that my b___bs looked and felt like the way they did when I was prego with my last baby. Again had another light period and didn't think much of it. For the last couple of weeks I have felt very light cramping and then yesterday when I went to jump into the shower I noticed that I was expressing milk. I immediately started freaking out. I started a__sessing the cramps that I was having and decided they are very much like the ones I had when I was pregnant with my last child. I have been searching on the internet and can not find anything that gives any other reason why I might start lactating and I also have read that you don't really start doing that until you are in your second trimester. I was quite nausous for a time in December and early January. I have had quite a few prego signs but have blamed them on other things. Sore b___st I have blamed on ovulating or close to my cycle time, smells bothering me on some virus going around, the thought of eating me was making me feel sick but yet for a while I was gaining quite steadily about 1/2 lb a week, heart burn that I blamed on food that I didn't eat. The need to change the soap and shampoo that I really loved to something that didn't have such a harsh smell to it. Gosh the list goes on. I knew getting pregnant was a possibility but my doctor a__sured me that with getting them burned there would be no way for me to get pregnant again. With all of these signs and reading that I still could be pregnant and still have a period and having the distinct feeling of something moving which by the way ladies I blamed on constipation and the fact that I was having problems with that for quite a while. I would tell my husband that it felt like something was moving and would feel like b___terflies but like I said conviced myself that it was something else also. Sorry getting off track here. With reading all of your posts I think there might be a possibility. My husband looked at me last night and said that he just knew that I was he could tell. I wouldn't mind having another little bundle of joy in the house. I am almost afraid of taking a test and finding out because I am afraid that my hubby and I would both be disappointed if I wasn't. He sat down last night and was so cute and decided on names that he liked. Evangaline Lexington if it is a girl and Evan Samuel if it is a boy. He has always been extreme when it comes to the girls names. My youngest daughter name was chosen by him Rachel Austin Magellan. Yes none of these are last names. So anyway what do you guys think? I really hope to hear and answer I notice there are more questions than answers but I will cross my fingers and good luck to all who might be prego. Cindy

Cindy- Wow I am glad to hear that you had your tubes burned also. I had my burned in 2000, that was the second time. the first time i had them done was in 1996 after my third child. just tied then but it didnt work i became pregnant and miscarried 2 times. so i had them burned in 2000, i am hoping by some miracle that i will get pregnant, and from hearing your story im hoping that its possible. i wish you the best of luck and please let us know if you take a test and what the results are.
