Cindy- Wow I am glad to hear that you had your tubes burned also. I had my burned in 2000, that was the second time. the first time i had them done was in 1996 after my third child. just tied then but it didnt work i became pregnant and miscarried 2 times. so i had them burned in 2000, i am hoping by some miracle that i will get pregnant, and from hearing your story im hoping that its possible. i wish you the best of luck and please let us know if you take a test and what the results are.

Cindy - I am not sure what procedure I had done, just know that I am pregnant. Waiting for dr. to schedule an ultrasound to make sure the baby is not in the tube which I hear is very common in women who become prego after a tubal. My fingers are crossed that it is in the uterus where it belongs so that I don't have to abort. If you have a feeling you may be prego I suggest taking a test or seeing your dr. right away. If it is tubal and not caught in time it could kill you as the tube will explode when it grows and you could bleed internally and die. Not a risk you need to take. Rather be disappointed than leaving your children without a mother. Next week I will be seven weeks along and the heart will be beating. Then they will be able to find it on the ultrasound better. Now it is just a waiting and praying game.

Well an update on my situation. I went for my 6 wks check up after surgery due to ectopic pregnancy. The tube was completely removed and the doctor sent it out for tests. When I went for the check up the doctor was reading the report and said "Boy you really were pregnant...there were three eggs found fertilized in the tube!!! I almost fell off my chair! I was very upset when I had first went in to see the doctor but when she told me there had been three...I felt some small bit of relief mixed with grief.

Does anyone know if a uti would give false readings on a hpt?

Christy..I think it is one in every two hundred women who get pregnant after tubal ligation and most doctors say the pregnancy is usually ectopic. But I just found out after having ectopic pregnancy that it is very common for a women to get pregnant if she has tubal ligation just after birth like I did. If you have missed your period it is best to see the doctor as soon as possible. I thought I was pa__sing a kidney stone or something because I was in alot of pain and felt like I had to use the restroom. If I would have went earlier to the doctor, she could have given me medicine to clean the tube instead of bleeding internally and having to undergo surgery!

A UTI will not affect The HPT. From what I have read.

I never knew that about the likeliness of getting pregnant after you have a tubal ligation after giving birth. I had my done in june of 2000 after i had my second daughter. They did mine the day after i had her. The doctor who did mine told me that he burnt them and everything, and he also told me that he went down a couple of inches too far. On the papers, it just says that he placed filshie clips on my tubes. Last month i had s_x on the 8th, 10th, and the 20th. I was due for my period around the 10th. It never came. I was 19 days late and on the 29th, i got what i guess was my period. Although around the time i was supposed to get it i still had cramps. when i got it on the 29th, it was not a normal period. It was bright pink, and definately not as heavy as it normally is. It only lasted for 3 or 4 days. I have taken 3 hpt all of which came back neg. I some symptoms like the dizziness, and i have put on some weight. I am always having hot flashes too. This month again i was due around the 10th, and again i still had cramps, and i am still waiting for my period to come. Does any one have any suggestions for me? The hpt i took was 2 from the dollar store and 1 from Walmart (equate). Should i go for the more expensive kind? Should i go to the doctor? Should i just wait and see what happens?

Also i have been having lowe back pain. Last month i was always feeling like I was going to vomit, but that has subsided now. I do get headaches, and i am always laying down for a nap while my kids are at school. I am always exhausted. My naps last for 3 or 4 hours. I go to bed every night at 9 and i wake up every morning at 7. Why am i so tired during the day?

Could someone please answer me or reply back? I will really appreciate it. Thanks

I think you need to go to the doctor for a blood test... then they can take it from there... You wanna make sure if your not pregnant and if you are make sure its not ectopic ( in the tube)

Hey Ladies it is more common than we think. And, ONLY if my Doctor would and should have explaind in more detail before I had the procedure------------------ TUBAL LIGATION I know I would have never had gone through with it and took better procaution. After having my ectopic tubal pregnancy <Can you believe the nerve of my Doctor after taking the 21STAPLES out of my -- lower stomach He had the nerve to ask me would I like to be on birth-control YES! I couldn't believe what I had just heard. No more than 2-months ago and had never had surgery in my life it litterally looked as if I had just had a SEIZ SECTION. And not knowing the knowledge back then I was astonished by how many women it happens to. I would not reccomend it to no one- Nor wish it upon anyone. I almost lost my life because of this simple-------- procedure as most Doctors might call it but call it as you want-To this day I have never heard of them having to go through it. Nor their spouses. And I encourage anyone who is even thinking about it PLEASE, Know the down falls of what it could do to your health. Lisa,One of the statistics

I had a tubal Ligation back in Oct. 2003 I just found out I was pregnant and then I lost it. What is the chance I could get pregnant again?

SaHaRa RAIN - May 20

Dear Lisa..I am in the same position as you. I have warned all of my family to not have tubal ligation...or at least wait a few months after delivering a baby. My doctor that I have now said they should have never did the tubal on me in the first place because a woman is so swollen for months after a delivery and it is very common for something to go wrong. The doctor I had before never mentioned how common it was and now I have this huge scare all the way across my abdoman...but atleast I have my life!!

When they did my tubal ligation they went through my belly b___ton. I have a scar across my belly b___ton, which the doctor said that i would not have. He also said that he went down a couple of inches to far. So i really dont know what to think. I know as with my procedure of the filshie clips they do come undone, but i do not know in how long. Some say 5 years some say 10 or 11 years. I was only 21 when i got mine done. It will be 5 years in June that i have had them done. Does anyone else know a little more about them coming undone and after how many years?

It would be nice if there were doctors or nurses in here that could answer all of our questions concerning this issue. I like most it seems was never told that there was a chance of pregnancy after tubal ligation (ectopic or otherwise). I was in the dr's office tuesday and there was a chart on the wall outlining all the birth control options. At the bottom was sterilization (tubal for women or vasectomy for men) and it said Question: will I be able to become pregnant after this procedure? Answer: No, you will never be able to be pregnant again! What a big bunch of horse you know what! I would so love to sue that stupid company who makes that chart and make them put there is a chance of pregnancy and even high risk of ectopic type.
