has anyone gotten pregnant after having a tubal ligation and husband having a vasectomy. My husband and I are considering both since I am 18 weeks pregnant after a tubal ligation.

I had a tubal ligation 11 months ago.can become pregnant still?

I had my tubes tied 11 years ago after my third child. It was my now ex-husband's idea and at the time I thought I was stuck with him for the rest of my life. I have since met and married a wonderful man who has not children of his own. I had a hysterosalpingogram and it looks like my tubes were tied in some kind of loop that has not broken off like it should have. Since we cannot afford the reversal right now we are trying to see if we can get pregnant on our own. If nothing happens in six months we will think about reversal or IVF...both costly. Thank you all for your inspiration and courage!

hello ladies how are you all doing tonight? Well I,m still nervus that I might be prego. I now have more simtoms the painful b___st.feel sick and now I,m so moody and tired and very HOT let me know what you all think.

Just an update. I had to go back and get another shot of methotrexate because my doctor didn't think my HCG levels were going down fast enough. This time he gave me a higher dose than the first time. I had a much worse reaction this time than I did the last time. For some of you who don't know, methotrexate is the same drug they give to cancer patients, for chemotherapy to help disslove cancer cells. But now I am doing alot better. I just want to let you ladies know that before you take that shot, if you find out you have an ectopic pregnancy, make sure you read up on it cause it is nothing to play with. It has some serious side effects. I bled for 6 days, like a regular period but with alot of clotting the first couple of days. I am still having some cramping but overall, the whole pregnancy feeling is gone. So, to all you ladies who are wishing or trying to get pregnant, I wish you all the best.

To Momto3boys..I was wondering what happened to you. Last time you wrote you had taken the medication to dissolve the ectopic pregnancy. I thought it only took one dosage. Sorry you had to go through it twice, but I am still getting over my surgery and would have given anything to have been given the medication first. I still can not feel anything on my bottom left side by my private area after having the ectopic pregnancy removed. It definitely is a lose...lose situation. Prays go out to you all.

To SaHaRaRAIN: I thought it only took one dose, too. But like I said, my ob/gyn didn't think the levels were going down fast enough. I think it had went down 300 points instead of the required 500 points. The emergency room doctor really didn't understand why my ob/gyn ordered another dose since my levels were dropping. The emergency room doctor said he guess my levels must not be going down fast enough for my ob/gyn. To tell you the truth, I think this is my ob/gyn's first ectopic pregnancy after a tubal. But I go back today to get my levels checked again. Hopefully they will be almost back down to normal. But if I had to do this all over again, I would have never gotten a tubal. I would have used some other form of contraception.

To SaHaRaRain - I am sorry to hear that you had to get another shot of Methotrexate. I had that shot, just once and my levels dropped. But now I sit around worried all the time. I had a D&C, was told I would bleed 5-7 days, bled for 1. D&C showed no baby, so they gave me the shot because my HCG levels were not dropping fast enough. Said I would bleed with that. Had no pain, no bleeding whatsoever. Now it has been almost a month and no signs of a period in sight. Have had s_x, and hubby had vasectomy right after we found out I was prego. Hate to think that it might be happening all over again so soon. I don't think I will make it through losing another one.

to momoto3boys: Im sorry you had to go thru that again. I know what it was like for me. Im still following thru with my labs making sure my levels go to 0. They were at 109 last sat. and then 35 on wed. so Im hoping this is my last week of having my blood taken. You are right about the serious side affects. I did all the research myself before hand. I got a very serious kidney infection 1 week after that shot. I spenty 10 hours in the emergency room and had to have IV antibiotics. Methotrexate kills your immune system and is nothing to mess around with. I feel so much better now, but I would love to have been able to have my baby. I cry everytime I think about it. Can anyone help me please? I had clips on my tubes 7 years ago, im 36 and going to see a consultant this thursday for reversal appointment.. i have been told the chances of positivity for me is 60/40 (40 being not in my favour) I really want to take this chance, has anyone else?

Hi as i sit here and read all of these post i wonder if i might be pregnant. I guess i allready wondered if i am here.LOL . Well here is my story, I had my tubes cliped tied and burnt almost 5 years ago to the day. About a month ago my left b___st swelled up a size bigger than the other one and was red and hurt. They said it was mast_tis. Since all of that i have been feeling nausea, head aches, heartburn and pain in my legs at night. I don't really know if i am prego or not but all of the symptoms are there. You see i am suppose to have a Hystorectomy done in about a month due to endometriosis. Just kindof makes me think you know when i go in for this they are gonna tell me well guess what we can't do it because you are pregnant wouldn't that be something ?

Hello, I am 48 and had my tubes tied in 1989. I have two beautiful bright daughters aging 22 and 18. I recently skipped two cycles. I went to my primary physican and had a blood test to check hormone levels think I was going through the big "Change". Yet, the blood test showed my hormone levels were normal ranging at 19 and the doctors says it isn't menopause. I have also gained six pounds in the past two months. Since then I feel like I am having pregnancy symptoms. Could I be pregnany or could it be something more serious? I am afraid of what it might be if I am not pregnant. My husband and I both agree that if I am pregnant it will be truly a mircale from God. Help!!!

To Paula...yeah, you have momto3boys and me mixed up. I had emergency surgery in march to remove an ectopic pregnancy and I am mom to 3 girls!!! ; ) . It is really hard to be strong I know , when you have lost something you never thought was possible to have again in the first place. I had three misscarriages before I had my tubal ligation and I thought the surgery would end my problems....I had no idea it would aid them! But it is TRULY amazing how we can put ourselves back together.
