Dorthy- That's great that you seem to be doing so well. Do you live in Texas? The drive would be a bit more longer for us since we live in Ks. Do you know what kind of TL you had, and what were the final lengths of you tubes? Sorry for so many questions, just very curious since I am planning on having the procedure done within the next 8-10 months.

I had the modified pomeroy method done, my lengths are 6-7 cm on each side now, yes I live 6 hours from Mc Allen. Remeber Jan. 1st you will need a pa__sport.

Man I am glad I foundt his site! I was amazed at everything I was reading.. I am 29 years old had my tubes tied right after the c section delivery of my daughter in 2001. SInce then I have had four years of no worries. We have a very active marriage and not once has the thought of being prgnant cropped into my mind until this week. My b___sts are Swollen and hard and man are they sore. I am frequently goin to the rr and hungry . it was not medically reccemned that I have any more children to to my tendancy of acc_mulating scar tissue quickly. I havent taken a test yet and am only a few days late but i have NEVER been late in 4 years! It would be a blessing from god to be pg again but that in itself come with concerns about etopic and ect. and can someone confirm if etopic even show up in an HPT? please respond ....

To Julie - To answer your question, no an ectopic pregnancy cannot be determined with a HPT. You can still get a positive reading on one if you have an ectopic pregnancy because your body reacts the same as it does if you were pregnant in your uterus. You will have to go to the doctor to have an ultrasound to actually determine where the pregnancy is. Hope that helps.

Yaya - Sorry we got off the subject, but after going through this. Something I never thought I would have to deal with again, I felt compelled to help out someone in need. Back on subject, I got my first period after having a D&C in May and the methotrexate shot in early June. I started July 5th and have yet to stop bleeding. I called my dr. and she is putting me on the pill for a month to see if it will stop the blood flow.

Paula- I do understand, I am the same way too if I have experienced something simular, I like to elaborate on the topic so that they don't make the same mistake as well. So have you had the reversal done?

well friends, let me say something i am 37years old, had tubal ligation done 13.5 years ago and on july 19 2005 i discover i was pregnant, i was in shock my youngest son is 14 and oldest daughter 16, my tubes are supposed to be cut and burned but i dont know what happend, i have an ectopic pregnancy, the baby is next to my right ovary, i didn't have any symton of pregnancy i miss my period in may, it came in june, and july miss it again, went to the doctor because i was having discomfort in my lower belly, since i was diagnose with endometriosis a couple years ago i thoght that was the problem, but for my surprise the doctor did a dip from my urine and told me i was pregnant, right now i am under treatment thank God i went to my doctor otherwise my story wouldn't be different it is very painful, they put me two shots of a medication to shrink the baby until it dissapears i been in the lab 4 times already, still have to go on Monday for blood work and they will tell me then on monday if i willl need surgery (laparoscopy) either way i want to have one done i want to know how i got pregnant , it is very sad for me and my family because in a way we were all happy when we found out i was pregnant after 14 years. If any of you suspect you are pregnant even knowing it may be imposible go to your OB right away. Thank God and my doctor i am okay it wouldn't be worst.

I am 23 and had my tubes tied Nov 02 2004... I just found out 2 days ago that I am pregnant. I haven't been to my OB yet and I have a question. Would I have felt the pain by now if I were having a tubal (I am 10 weeks along)? I don't feel pregnant at all....

This is in regards to Gina. You said it has been 10 weeks. You would need to go to a doctor asap. You might not feel pain until it's too late. Your doctor should have advised you when you got your tubes tied, to call them if you ever miss a period. Also it is important to get prenatal care as early as possible. Keep us informed and God Bless!

I had my TL 12 years ago 30 minutes after my last child was born. The doctor was suppose to tie, cut and burn but when I checked with the hospital at the beginning of the month, they only cut and tied them. My last AF began May 31. Tomorrow should begin my AF if I don't miss another one. My family doctor did a qualitative blood test on the 14th and it came back negative. He also had my hormone levels checked and he said they showed I was mid-cycle on the 14th. I am very confused right now. I was hurting real bad this time last month and sick feeling and then it all went away. Still no AF though. I made an appt. with my OB/GYN for Aug. I figured that would give me a couple of weeks to start it I am. I would love to have another baby although one of my children graduate this year and my other two are 12 & 13. I never had thoughts of becoming pregnant again until I missed my June AF. This is my first time to every miss or be late since I had my TL 12 years ago. I hope he can tell me what is wrong.

I have a question.. I am almost 2 wks late for my period. I had a tubal ligation done in March 2004. I am pretty normal for my cycle at first it was around the 26th then a few mons later it changed to 18th and has been like this now for at least 7 months. Well it is the 27th and it's a no show. A week or so before the 18th I had some clear discharge that lasted almost a week it was stringy and kinda like egg white. Is it possible to be pregnant or am I going into early menopose? I am only 34 yrs old.

Heidi - July 28

This is more of a question, also. But, When you ladies all had your tubes done, did you experience heavy bleeding? I had my tubes cauderized 10 days ago, and I am experiencing some serious bleeding. Like, I am going through a super plus tampon in 3 hours. I was just wondering if this is normal or if it is something I should be concerned about. Thanks for your time!

Ann - July 29

I haven't heard of anyone getting pegnant and going to term after a tubal ligation were the tubes were cut and burned, but I think we as women have to be very careful and observent of our bodies more so we can take important steps insuring that we're not waiting until an ectopic pregnancy hits us and we lose our tube. If you're two weeks late go to the doctor.

Nicole - July 29

Can we afford to lose our one or both of our tubes? Not to sound dumb, but what happens if we do?
