Hello everyone...Ive been reading this forum for about 2days starting from 2004..I never knew it was this common to become prego after TL..Im 32 I had mines cut and burned after my 3rd child which was by c-section as were the other two as well..Unfortunately she died 2 mos later via SIDS and I was devastated ofcourse..because I knew I just got my tubes tide so I thought they were just tied. I only wanted mines tied because I knew that I could always get them untied when Im ready for another child. I didnt know they were cut and burned until 2 years ago when I entered Med a__st school...We was on the subject of fertility and TL was one of the birth control methods mentioned...When it came up of course I raised my hand and said I had one done at the end of 2001 and my instructer asked which form of TL did I have...I was dumb founded I said tied... She advised me they dont do it that way anymore..She said I must have had them cut and burned or something like that..I contacted Planned Parenthood which was my OBGYN but not the one who gave me the TL and asked which proceedure did I have...They couldnt believe I didnt already know...The head nurse advised me mines was cut and burned and she said it was irreversable...I wanted to die or kill...I thought about suing them because even though I signed a consent to have it done i was not aware of what type of proceedure I was having and that it would irreversable.. Now reading this forum I feel differently and now im aware that my chances are greater than I expected...Thanks to all of you..

hi everyone..I came to this site because my period was suppose to come on the 15th of Jan. It didnt..Just minor cramps and lower backaches, fatiuge, wanting to eat everything. I took a hpt yesterday which was only 4 days missed and it was neg. This has happened to me 2 yrs ago and I was late for about 9 days and it came very strong with clots very painful..I dont know if I had a misscarriage or if my cycle changed but this hasnt happened since. i will wait for another couple of days to see if my period come before I take another test. When I was preg with my second child I took an Ept early preg test and it was positive after only 5 days missed and with my third child I took a cheap but early test(not sure which one ) after 5 days missed and it was positive so I think if you are preg it show after 5 days missed with a good early preg test. This time I used a dollar store preg test because I dont want to waste money on a expensive on for nothing. So ill wait another couple of days. My cramps are getting etter now and the backaches not that bad anymore, now Im feeling like Im filling up in my lower abd. Ill update you in a couple of days.

Angeldb: You're not alone, I was feeling the same way last week. I was a week late, so I went out and bought a test. I spent $14 on one. I got a negative result. Aunt Flow came the next day! I was hoping that my tubal failed. I'm so wierd. I think I just need to hold a little baby again. Good luck with everything! :) Deb

Hello...Still no show...around 7:30 am I thought it was here because the cramps was killing me. My back felt like I was in labor. I wanted to take a pain killer but was scared to. This went on for about 3 hrs. I went to the bathroom to chk but there was nothing..Now there no pain..What is going on..Maybe my cycle is changing..but do you get cramps like this..Ive been getting these cramps from the 12th of Jan...Please let me know whats going on...Wheres Paula.?

Angel It doesn't sound right for you to be having cramps for this long. It would be in your best interest to go to the doctor. There are quite a few different medical conditions that cause abdominal pain. From gas to pancreat_tis. Go to the doc. :) Deb

Hello all! I have been reading this forum for awhile and thinking if i should post my concern. so here I am first i will start off by saying I am a 33yr old mother of three. I had my tubes tied 11yrs ago after the cesearean birth of my son who was breech. I have always had regular periods every 28 days non fail. Well I had my normal period Dec.11 as scheduled so my period would of been due Jan 8th well i started spotting on the 3rd ( not enough for a panty liner just only when i went to the rr and wipe myself) that happened daily then on the 10th what i thought was my period arrived for only that day then i had the same spotting again for a day after. It is now the 21st and I am having mild cramps in my lower abdomen. I dont know what to make of it. I have been having headaches and feeling a lil fatigue lately, no appet_te, getting full fast. Anyone had this happen and what was the outcome?

silent007 I was also a week late this month. I think it was because I was coming down with a cold/flu and under some stress. If you are worried about being pregnant, go and buy a test. It will help you get some rest tonight. If it is neg, and you don't start by next week, I'd call the dr. If you are anything like me, the last time I went to the OB/GYN was during my last pregnancy. Well the six week check up to be exact. (That was over 3 years ago)

Deb... I have felt gas pains but these are not gas pains they are menstrual cramps and lower backaches just like my period is on but no show.. The cramps and backaches come and go..I also urinate a lot more but did a preliminary dip stick at home and I dont have a UTI. I call the Dr. they advised me to wait at least 2wks late then if still no show make an appt........... Silent007....did you take a HPT yet? Are u still bleeding?

Hello all. I have'nt been in here for some time. Angel, it sound's like it could be implantation bleeding, and the cramps are something that goes along with it. I have heard and readed about it. If I were you I would go to the doc and see what they say. If you are always on time then there might be something wrong or you could be pregnant, it can happen..

rttj2000..5:30 I started spotting only when I wiped now its gone and its 7am..I had s_x last night, maybe that caused me to spot....I got up to get my first morning urine. I put it in a container and put it in the fridge...Do you think it will be ok test later?

well ladies It started officially about 9am..I still took the HPT with th first morn urine just to see if was pos or neg...It was neg..Now my next step is to make an appt for Dr to see if my tubes have come back together or not and then sched reversal if needed....Thanks for listening everyone and good luck to you all..I still keep reading.

Hi Angel, Even though it was neg, does'nt mean you might still be pregnant. And I don't think that because you had s_x it made you spot, you said you have been spotting on and off. Go to the doc and see what they say. Best of luck, let us know how you go..

Hello ladies. Let me start by saying this thread is really long. Well, I thought I'd share my story with you. I am 33 yr young mother of 3 2 boys 1 girl ages 14, 13, 10 from my first marriage. I had my tubes tied (cut and burned)4 mnths after my last child. Soon later divorced my husband. For some reason my tube was left long on one side which caused a lot of problems and pain. It had somehow wraped around some nerves and I had major pain on my right side. So they tied my tubes for a second time. I have now been remarried for 7 yrs my dh has no childern but has been raising my like his own. Well in 2000 we decided to look into options to get pregnant. I had an ectopic pregnancy while looking. Well we found a great fertility dr he went over our options, because of the way my tubes were tied he said I still had a chance with the reversal, however because of the second surgery he did not believe that I would have enough length left on my tubes to have any results. So our next option was invitro fertilization. We did our first round in may of 2006 we did get pregnant but I had a fetal demise in July. We did our second round in Nov of 2006 and I am now 12 wks and 5 days. It was a lot of work but it was worth it. For years we wanted children together and finally we will. So I just wanted to let you know that there is hope you just have to work at it. I regretted getting my tubes tied at 23 yr old. I cried when I got there My husband had just literally just dropped me off in the front and picked me up when it was done. Needless to say I was dumb. I wish you all the best of luck

I had a tubal ligation done in 2003 after my twins were born. (#3 and #4 for us). I was only 22 at the time. The other day I started what I thought was my period. It was more brownish/pink adn resembled old blood more then anything. I put a tampon in and went to cla__s. The entire night I had the worst cramps and lower back pain. I came home and took some tylenol and took my tampon on. I had barely filled it. Odd since usually my first day is heavy. The next morning I was still not bleeding much so I put a regular absorbency tampon in and within an hour or so, I was running to the bathroom because blood was gushing out. I had bright red blood all over me and the floor. I cramped off and on the rest of the day, and finally the flow slowed down. Then today I have been crampy off an on with back pain and a few little gushes here and there with small clots and what I can only a__sume is tissue? It kind of resembles ground coffee. I've never had anything like this happen before, so I wasn't sure what it was. From what my friends tell me, it supposedly sounds a lot like a miscarriage. IF that is true, then my tubal obviously is not effective anymore, right?

Hi Totsntwins...One thing Ive learned from this thread, that I didnt know about before is a test your OBGYN can do to determiine if your tubes have grown back together. I think we all should take this test so this way we wont have to wonder so much and make our cycle get delayed by our thoughts could it be or not??? You can still take a HPT just to see what it is because it take a little time for the hcg hormones to come down.. Or go to your OBGYN and let them take a blood test, because even if it was a miscarriage at least you will know you can still get pregnant. Good luck.

Hi all, I also had a TL done 6 months ago after my 3rd child by c-section, I am 10 days late and just took a hpt which the result came out negative, I was wondering if being overweight can stop your periods?
