Hello All, This is my first post. Here is my situation. I have had 4 confirmed m/c. I am now pregnant. LMP ws 2/6. HCG on 3/7 was 181. HCG on 3/9 was 602. This is our first time under the guidance of my new fertility specialist. We have undergone every test that we have been presented with. All of the tests were fine. She said that I was borderline with PCOS and prescribed Metformin because it wont hurt. We also started Progesterone suppositories 3 days after positive ovulation test. SO......I have had brownish spotting but the DR seems to think that as long as my HCG is going up, I am okay. An hour ago I had bright red bleeding with a couple of clots. I have a scheduled HCG test on 3/16 and US the day after if the HCG looks good. I guess I don't have any questions other than is anyone else having the same issue?

YCE: of course. i dont say anyone is wrong for wanting to know. i just feel that we worry ourselves silly over what often turns out to be nothing. and if we're worrying for a reason there's not alot we can do to alter the course of events that are to unfold.
in my case.. i worried and read websites and worried some more. i called my doctor and sought advice, and worried some more. i woke up with cramps last night and would have bet all my money that id miscarried. bad cramps that woke me up. so i worried and didnt sleep and felt like crying coz i was sure that it was all over. i took a nurofen because the pain was so bad i couldnt sleep. even when the pain subsided i couldnt sleep.
when i woke up this morning and went to the bathroom i was convinced id see blood. but there was none. and today.. the spotting stopped. and for the first time i think i felt a bit of nausea. my b___bs are tender. most of all the spotting has stopped! yet the last week ive endangered my baby by stressing and worrying..
im aware we're all human, and all subject to these emotional rollercoasters. all im saying is i believe is these websites are bittersweet (for want of a better description). they can be wonderful in making us feel like we're not alone, but they can also add to the worry that is already consuming us!
in my opinion planning for a miscarriage and knowing its a probable outcome wouldnt make it any easier for me to deal with it.
but thats just me. i dont mean to belittle anyone else :) that definitely wasnt what i was intending and im sorry that you seem to have taken it that way.
i really do wish you all well with your attempts at motherhood.

I'm about a day short of 6 wks. 2 days ago I notices brown dicharge ans cramping. I saw the doctor who ordered u/s and blood work. The u/s revealed nothing, yep they said that they did not see a thing. The blood work said that I was pregnant and my doctor put me on the bed rest for 48 hrs until the next blood work. My doc said that it may be that it is just to early to see anything, maybe that I am about to miscarry, or that I have an ectopic pregnancy. This is my second pregnany and we tried for it for such a long time.

I recently had some spotting around 2 days after I was due for my period, it was red blood and only lasted a day, I a__sumed I had got my monthly period. I then had very tender b___sts, and all the signs of pregnancy, I took 4 yes 4!! home pregnancy test, and they were allpositive, I was thrilled, I book my doctors appt, and on that day I had more spotting, this time brown in colour, I was horrified, there was only a small amount when I wipped, informed the doctor and they sent me for bloods, and for a scan, no sign of anything, but urine tests there were postive and blood borderline, I now have to go and have more bloods to check HCG levels, and to rule out ectopic, I am so frightened as this is my first and I am so affraid I will loose it. Reading all your submissions has helped me so much, love to all, and I hope all goes well for everyone Lynsey x

Hi Ladies,
A comforting website. Just wanted to share my experiences with you. My wife went for an internal US yesterday as we had a few concerns that we might be eptopic. Scan confirmed all is well and we are 6 1/2 weeks. Nurse said cramps my wife has been experiencing could be due to a number of reasons. However, today she has a tiny amount of pink spotting, but enough to scare us half to death. Has been a really emotional afternoon, very scary, and I was so unaware of how strong my emotional distress would be. It is a scary time, but all we can do is wait. Tis forum has given cause for optimism, but is still frustrating being the husband as all I want to do is take away her (emotional) pain. I am still convinced that the int US may have caused the spotting, but only time will tell I guess. Anyway, nice to have somewhere to share feelings, and I can only focus on the fact that I never realised that I could have such happy feelings as during the positive times!

I wanted to give all of you some hope... at 7 weeks i started spotting with cramps that seemed to be getting worse... the spotting turned to light bleeding... and being the survivor of a previous m/c i was terrified because i want this baby so bad... i went to the ER for a u/s even though i know they wouldnt be able to stop the m/c if thats what it was... they showed me my baby with a strong heart beat and a week later when i had my blood work done a second time my levels were still going up... i've been told that a surprising number of women bleed early in their pregnancies and that this is totally normal... cramping is also normal and i was told that this is because of the uterus streching and growing... if you are worried go to the hospital and tell them you think you are having a m/c and ask for a u/s because you want to check on the health of the baby... most places dont mind and they can do your first round of blood work and send the results to your doctor who can do the second round

ive also discovered that alot of cramping in that area is actually wind pain, which seems to accompany the constipation that we pregnant women seem prone to! several times ive felt pain so bad that i was almost certain i was miscarrying.. which lasted an hour or so, for me then to realise its only wind pain.

I recently m/c on Feb. 13, 2006. I am still experiencing a lot of bleeding. Some days heavier than others. My question is, is this normal??? It gets lighter and I think that it's the end and then all of a sudden I'm clotting again. Last HCG was on 3/15 which was 259. HCG a week prior to that was 550. So the levels are dropping but has anyone experienced such long term bleeding?

I'm at 25 year old mother of two. I had my tubes tide after having my second baby during a c-section about ten months ago. I recently got my periods back in November. This month has been weird. I started my period on March 12th and it went to the 15th or so..and it wasn't normal..because usally I'm about seven days and heavy. This time it was only 5 days and kinda medium to light. Well about three days ago around midnight after having intercourse about two hours prior I went to the bathroom to see that I had blood in my underware about the size of a baseball and rusty brown in color...thought it was weird..didnt think much of it..next morning, it was done with. Now ever since than when I pee and go to wipe there is light pinky color on the toilet paper. Nothing in my underware and yesterday my lower tummy hurt and back ached, and I have had a steady headach today. I know this sounds odd but could I be....pregnant? If not pregnant can someone tell me what could be going on. I am very worried it could be a tubal pregnancy and I dont currently have health insurance. PLEASE...help me put my mind at ease. THANK YOU! I mean really what are the odds right? My luck is usually not that good. I really want another baby and regret my tubal...but am I wanting it so bad that I am thinking this up? PLEASE HELP...I hope I'm making sense! :(

Hi. Just thought I would update on my post from a few days ago. The doctor told us to go get a scan for precautionary reasons. My wife went this morning, very emotional and frightened, but the scan indicated at the moment all is still well. Docs said that spotting and cramps are fairly common. What was best about scan was the fact that it immediately calmed my wife and I down, so my advice to anyone frightened by bleeding is to go get a scan, as it really helps calm the situation. I will keep you guys posted on our progress...

I am a 7 weeks and haven't vivited the DR yet. I have been having a light brown discharge when i wipe. It kind of looks like what happens at the end of my period. I am worried because I started to have this last week, and it stopped for a week and now again yesterday and today it has started again and is almost evertime I use the restroom. It seems like more also. Any advice would be great.

I am 38 weeks pregnate. I had lots of bleeding during my whole pregnacy. It has been very hard emotionally. I have had several ultrasounds and everything is allways ok. I am doing fine now. The last time I bleed was at 28 weeks. I pray for my baby everyday. I feel so bad for anyone who is haveing trouble with there pregancy. I know it is very difficult. I was never given a reason for the bleeding. No doctor ever knew for sure.

This is my second pregnancy ( 6/7wks) and I began spotting yesterday. In reading the long thread, I wanted to put in my two cents. I had 3 days of spotting during my first pregnancy which began after attending a rock concert the night before ( outside in AZ- no too smart!) and didn't drink enough water. That time my ob suggested a couple days of rest and plenty of fluids. While speaking to my ob today regarding my current spotting one of his questions was how much water had I drinken in the last 48 hours-- make sure you are drinking plenty of water ( don't count juice , tea, soda etc)...
