Vaginal Suppositories Vs Prometrium

In my last successful pregnancy I was on progesterone va___al suppositories (they were handmade by the pharamcist) until 12 weeks. I had two miscarriages prior to my third pregnancy. In my third pregnancy my progesterone levels went from 22.3, to 22.1 in weeks 4 and 5, so my doc prescriped the suppositories to be safe. I am now pregnant again and have checked progesterone levels at 13dpo (28.9), and at 20dpo (22.4). Because of the drop and my history, I asked to be placed on progesterone again. I was prescribed PROMETRIUM. I was fine with that until I read the enclosed literature. It actually says - Do not take if pregnant, and I have also read something about causing birth defects.
I received the prescription late Friday and have not had a chance to speak with a doctor because of the holiday.
I remember in my last pregnancy my doctor said that the progesterone cannot do anything wrong so we might as well give it a try. Now, I am reading online information that is contrary to that.
Are the va___al suppositories made up of the same "ingredients" as the prometrium?
I am supposed to take 200mg daily, but I have not taken since Friday night, after reading the literature.
Does anyone here have info regarding which progesterone type is better to take? Is prometrium a "natural" progesterone?
Thanks for any info that you have!
