Hi, I am 6 weeks pp tomorrow and I am eager to loose these extra 20 pounds (or more ) that I have on after six weeks, but I want to lose it in a healthy way, not by some fad diet that I will loose fast and gain it right back. This is my 4th child, and I was 130 pre-pregnancy . I got to 169 during pregnancy and was down to 151 by 2 weeks pp. I am now 6 weeks pp and haven't lost another pound since!!! It's a real bummer to think that you are doing so well to have already lost nearly 20 pounds 2 weeks after then be stuck there for another 4 weeks. I'd love to hear how some of you other ladies shed those extra "lingering" pounds. Thanks!!

I gave birth 4 weeks ago today. I have been really watching what I eat and trying to get a few walks in. I have 20 pounds to loose. I have been trying to drink just water and 1 caffeine free diet coke a day. I am not b___stfeeding. I seem to be loosing about 5 pounds a week just watching my diet. I only eat once a day around 5 at night. I am going to get on the stairmaster and do crunches when I am six seeks post partum.

Suzanne, eating 1 meal a day isn't that healthy for you. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to lecture at ALL . It's great that you're drinking lots of water and will be exercising in a couple of weeks but you need to eat a bit more during the day. I say this from experience...I thought if I ate 1 meal I'd be good. I did lose quite a bit of weight but ended up putting it back on when I began eating normally again.

Wow, cat_9597, you and I are in exactly the same boat. I also have 20 lbs to lose and haven't lost a pound since that first week after having my baby. I am now also 6 week pp and I am just starting into the exercise. I'm sorry I don't have any positive stories to tell you yet, other than that I did actually lose inches in the past two weeks, but no actual pounds. This is my third child and I think that the more kids you have, the harder it is to lose the weight after. But maybe once we start into the exercise and try to eat reasonably, it'll start to come off. Good luck! I know I'll need it!

I lost 20 pounds within 2 1/2 weeks of giving birth. Now I'm stuck. I've been on Weight Watchers and I've been working out 5 days a week and I can't lose a thing. I'm going crazy! Every time I step on the scale, I see the same number. I'm extremely frustrated. If anyone has any tips, please let me know.

I wonder if it's hormones that make those extra pounds "linger". It seems there's lots of people who just aren't dropping the weight. Maybe if we wait a few months (even though that seems like it's such a long time), when our hormones level off, will it suddenly just happen? Just a thought. I have no idea if it'll work but I wonder.
