MC, my baby is 2 and 1/2 months and 12 lbs and still in her ba__sinet. I was wondering the same thing.

The time to move baby to the big bed is 3 months. After that they are usually too heavy to sleep safely in the ba__sinet. I did put baby in carseat in crib once or twice as the bigger bed can make baby feel insecure. I never used bumper pads as we had the crib in our room for a while. I couldn't see my son with the bumpers on so we took them off. This is especially helpful when they learn how to turn over as it isn't safe for them to sleep on their tummies. Make sure that any blankies you use are tucked under the end of the mattress so baby cannot end up with a bunch of material over the face or tangled around them. Sleepsacks are the best blanket alternative for crib sleeping as the keep baby at just the right temperature. Good luck!

UPDATE!! I JUST BOUGHT MY SON TO HIS 2 MONTH CHECKUP YESTERDAY AND THE DOCTOR SAID SURE YOU CAN MOVE HIM INTO HIS CRIB NOW. DOESNT THIS SEEM TO EARLY? I FEEL LIKE A JUST GOT HIM ON A GOOD SLEEPING SCHEDULE AT NIGHT WHY MESS IT UP NOW? FEEDBACK.....

It didn't mess up my daughter's sleep to move her to the crib. I moved her when she was 6 weeks old, because it was so hot here and air circulated better in the crib than the ba__sinet.

My son slept in his crib the second night home. I felt it was safer since the cradle is an old wood one, and it of course isn't "up to code". I roll up blankets to put on either side of him so he feels more closed in - it seems to work fine when he's in the mood for sleeping - which isn't often during the night, but he naps there for 3-4 hours during the day without a fuss.

Speaking of blankets, I recommend not using chenille blankets. I used one with my first daughter, and found her crying with it in her face! I never used it again for nighttime.

I put my son in the ba__sinet during the day and in the crib at night. With my last son, I strictly used the ba__sinet until 3-3 1/2 months. I had a very hard time introducing the crib. He slep in his car seat in the crib many nights.

I moved CAgney to the crib at about two months and it didn't disrupt his schedule. but the crib is still in the same room with us.

LADIES THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR FEEDBACK. WHAT MY HUSBAND AND I DECIDED TO DO WAS MOVE THE CRIB INTO OUR ROOM FOR A WHILE UNTIL HE REALLY GETS USED TO IT. HOPEFULLY ALL WILL BE WELL. ILL CHECK YOU UPDATED. :-))

I don't think it matters when you do it as long as your baby is safe. On my ba__sinet is says to move baby at 3 months, or if baby can roll over.
