I gave birth 3wks ago and the first week i noticed a bad fishy smell from my va___a so i called my doc and he said it was probably just hormones from labor and everything. Well it pretty much went away but now the last few days i've noticed it's back and am just wondering if that's normal to smell for the first several wks. I'm done bleeding but there is still some discolored discharge. Also i don't have any other symptoms of infection. Anyone know what this could be?

I get the same thing off and on. I gave birth Oct 16. I have had this off and on with all four of my kids and all has been fine. I'm sure it is ok.

did you have any tearing? It could be an infection at the site. I'd try warm sitz baths with epsom salt. If nothing else, it feels great!

Thanks for both your input. I had an episiotomy and have been loving the baths! I'm hoping the smell goes away in time.

i noticed the same thing right before i gave birth and then after all the bleeding it still smells kind of different. did yours go away?

I am having the same thing off and on. I have been wiping with a baby wipe after I use the bathroom, this has seemed to help

i noticed an odor when i was pregnant and i gave birth 10 days ago and ever since it has been worse. maybe it is the bleeding? i hope that is what it is i feel repulsive when i go to the restroom. i wonder how long it takes before it goes away?
