Change In Vaginal Appearance

There's no way to get this out without giving too much info...so sorry ladies. But I had my first baby va___ally 3.5 months ago and I still feel like my va___a isn't the same. I don't think it's ever going to be the same. I had a tear and only received 1 or 2 st_tches..nothing severe I guess. But it just doesn't feel right down there. And when I look at it with my handheld mirror, WOW. The hole is much bigger, don't know where my hymen is (found out that's the skin surrounding the bottom of your hole)...I heard its normal for the hymen to get damaged during childbirth...well my midwives told me mine did and now when I look down there it's just a wreck! Anyone else? It also looks like I have a little tiny hole in my urethra area...And my perineum feels really tight like it didn't heal right.

Having a baby DOES change things. sorry! You know most of the hymen breaks when you have s_x the first time. If there's any left, a 6-9 pound baby coming through there is sure to break away the rest. Isn't the small hole you're seeing, the urethra itself? And not having s_x for awile can temporarily make you tighten up. The best thing you can do for your bottom now is keegles. Take care!

Thanks so much Lala. I guess this is a subject poeple are shying away from, although I'm sure it's happened to most of us...I appreciate your feedback! :) As far as the urethra goes...well...it didn't look like that before but I guess I gotta embrace the change and be grateful that I'm healthy.

Sleepless - I had my baby 5 and half weeks ago. You sound exactly like me. I knew what I looked liked down there before and now it is definitely different. Of course I understand that having a baby would alter it "temporarily" but I was wrong. I thought it would go back to normal. The hole is larger (couldn't the doctor have added a few more st_tches? ;o) ) and my perineum is tighter from the scar tissue as well. I went to the doctor to discuss and she said everything was fine. I am unhappy with the situation, but what can I do? I guess if i was really desperate I could get plastic surgery - but I highly doubt it. I guess I will have to live with it. How do women deal with it when they have 2 or more children? I would imagine it would worsen each time? Who knows? - maybe some women don't pay attention to that kind of stuff!? But I am mourning my old v____a! ;o) LOL

I'm in the same boat. Had my baby 3 1/2 mths ago, and things just aren't the same. The v____al wall seems to have regained it's strength, but the tightness around the opening seems to have disapeared. Any feedback on whether this returns at all? will kegals even work on this part? I worry that because the 'opening' is gone my partner is recieving less stimulation during intercourse. Let me know your thoughts!

Hi ladies. Well, I have to tell you after 4 pregnancies and 4 c-sections my stuff changed as well. The pelvic floor muscles aren't the same as before either due to the weight of the pregnancies themselves. My lips changed with the pregnancy hormones. If it makes you feel any better, when we did our GYN rotation there were women who never had any kids who had open or loose v____al openings...go figure?

To Janny: Exactly. My perineum is tighter from scar tissue, and I'm thinking the same thing about my caginal opening...like couldn't I have gotten a few more st_tches. lol....I am in serious mourning over my old v____a as well...lol I can't lie, it makes me wonder whether or not I want a 2 or 3 baby v____a. I don't know if my poor little area can take it! Thanks for all of the input ladies. It does make me feel better to know it's normal and I'm not alone.
