I am not sure if the is hormonal or what. I do not like the way I look at all. It's been two weeks since my c-section, my stomach is still gross (stretch marks below the belly button and it's still looks like I am expecting and is droopy). I used to be in good shape prior to pregnancy. I keep seeing other women who just had their babies and are already back to normal... I know this is selfish of me to worry about, but I just need to get it out... I cannot exercise yet, so what to do? I love my dd to pieces and I know this was worth it, but I don't even like to go to the grocery store afraid someone will see me... What the world?

oh, honey! you said it yourself, it has only been 2 weeks! don't worry, you will feel a lot better once you recuperate your strength and start exercising. it is different for everybody, some bounce back very quickly some of us don't. it is just a matter of time. hang in there. p.s. i don't think it is selfish of you at all, we all feel that way one time or another.

i was just going to post something similar to this. i am 6 months pp and still have days like this. after my c section i my stomach was swolen to i dont know what and i was so nervous about how i now looked i would have panic attacks at stores. it gets better and some people like myself will never have our old body back but we can have a healthy nice body. i was 5'2 135 when i got pregnant. i delivered 1 1/2 months early because i had toxemia that causes me to gain 50 pounds(water) in 2 weeks.plus losing that 50 + in one week didnt help. i was stretched as all get out. i was 230 the day i delivered but in my head i thought i would be NORMAL again as soon as they got the last st_tch in. But i promise it gets better and if your only two weeks pp i suggest if they gave you the girdle and you are not wearing it put it on today it helps ALOT. i wish you the best of luck. get as much rest as u can.

Stars and Newbie
Thank you for your responses. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I sure wish it would vanish.... Newbie, I am sorry to hear about your pregnancy. I can only imagine how freighting it could have been. The hospital did not give me a girdle, but I do have something to hopefully hold it in once my incision doesn't hurt as much. Thank you both for your support and kind words.

not only will a girdle/ tummy shaper help with the pain on incision but it can also help your skin go back a little. keeps the drooping up where is should be i forgot to mention this. i know wearing one later on helped my saddle bags( they were on the front and side.)

Thanks again, I still dislike the way I look. I am bf and the weight is not "melting" off like others say it does. What gives? I am not sure. I am anxious to start exercising. I will try the girdle... Thanks again.

I dropped about 10lbs right away but when my milk came in, I quit losing. I guess I am just one of those women who can't loose weight while lactating. I switched to formula at 6wks and when my milk dried up (took about another 10 days) I started losing again. I still have about 12 lbs to go. I am currently 9wk pp and my tummy is still a little droopy, but it gets better each week. Hang in there!

Gosh! I finally found someone in my situation. I am currently 4 weeks pp and I was so slim beforehand, and right now I feel like crying each time I try something on to try my luck once again and I find myself in the same situation. I have never ever been overweight. I have always been on the slim side, and this just totally sucks. I have a closet full of clothes that I was waiting to wear once baby has popped out, and I feel like giving them all away to charity out've despair lol. alverran-what is your situation now. You must've given birth about a week or so before me. I gave birth on 13th August. Let's hang it out together...it'll make us feel betta (I hope) :)

Come on. It took 9 months to make the baby, you think it's going to take LESS for your body to get back to normal? Be real.

Well, those women who look great in clothes just weeks after their baby is born might look very different when they are naked! I look good in clothes, but god forbid anyone should see what they are hiding!! I'm 4 weeks pp and have always lost weight easily after our babies have been born, but have kept a little weight in hidden areas each time that I can hide until I feel like exercising to get rid of it. And even then, it doesn't always work. Don't compare yourself to other women, all it does is get you down. I bet there are other women who look at you and think the same way - I wish I had her...I think she's got great...you don't know what other people think. It's only been 2 weeks! It all takes time. I'm at my inbetweeners in my clothes so I know I still have weight to lose. I live in tracksuit pants and my husbands shirts...

I am 4 weeks pp and I can tell you that after this one...just like my 1st two I felt terrible....still having to wear maternity clothes is terrible embarra__sing for some reason even though noone in their right mind expects you to be back to normal right after...it is something we feel personally has to happen. It is pp hormones along with the feeling of I am not pregnant anymore...lets get back to normal now?!?! It will come off though....I lost 30 lbs so far...I am b___stfeeding and drinking tons of water and juice. I can't start working out until 6 weeks though. My stomach feels like it will never go down...see I gained 70 lbs so the 30 I have lost is nothing I notice because I was so huge lol. After my last two it took about 6 months to get back to size 8 so I am not going to fret too much....it will happen just not as fast as I'd like it to. There is light at the end of the tunnel....your body will go back we just gotta give them time to recover.

Apr! I am so sorry, I have not read this in a while. Well, I am almost at 12 weeks (dd was born on 8 Aug) and still have 15lbs to lose. I am nursing and it's not budging. Not to mention, when I run it KILLS... I had a c-section and that area still is not the same. I am frustrated with myself and wish I could just be one of "those" women wearing their prepregnancy clothing. How can I hide a pouch? Selfish I know, but it's frustrating.

Once i was okay to excerise the weight didnt melt off, i worked otu religiously!! i worked out everyday and did atleast 100 sit ups a day. I made sure i got back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but you cant expect it to happen in 2 weeks. Also start eating right too.

I'm almost 3wks postpartum and had a csection. I weighed myself at 2wks after and had lost 18 lbs. I gained 38lbs, and doubt I will lose the remaining 20 lbs for a while. My biggest thing is clothing - none of my prepregnancy things fit, and I am soo sick and tired of maternity items. Nursing tops are extremely hard to find and low rise pants hit my csection line dead on. I hate to get a whole new wardrobe, but I want to feel like I look good, even with a bit of extra weight.

Here here SuzieQ. LIke I posted before, I am 12 weeks pp and whew, the clothes are a downer. I have a pair of jeans I bought that were a size up and they are the ONLY ones I wear. I go through my wardrobe and nothing seems to fit, I take that back they fit but look BAD. I am sure it will come off. I too, gained 38lbs with my dd... 15 more to go.
