Hi, I recently had a baby and have visited thsi site numerous times thats why I was hoping that someone here in the this forum could help. My hubby's ex-wife has custody of there child. We are currently trying to gain dual custody due to being afraid for childs safety and for equal rights. His ex wife was depressed and suicidal before pregnancy during and after. She has tried to kill herself numerous times but the judge told us today that this can not be used against her since there has not been any cases where she has tried to kill herself in front of anyone since february. Does anyone here know fo a good website that can help us help her? She wont go to a DR and wont talk to us about it or anyone for that matter. She denies the fact that she is suicidal even though we have recordings that she left on our answering machine on how she was going to kill her self and how she was trying to do it right then in front of the baby. We want to save the baby but also let her have a part in her life. BUt so far the courts rule in the mothers favor just because the fact is she is the mother and fathers rarely get rights. Are there any sites on ppdepresion and suicide and how to help these women and the children? Im very worried.

In your area there should be a crisis hotline, I work for one in Maine - so I'm sure if that exists in rural parts of this state it must be in yours too. There is this number that should be able to direct you to your local agency for help and support, 1 800 273 TALK. Also, if you are concerned about the baby witnessing this, or if baby is not being cared for, I would report to your local health and human services office. You can also make an anonymous report if you don't want to leave your name. Good Luck - I hope this helps. It sounds like you should be concerned, she has attempted in the past, and is threatening again.. that's scary. email me if I can help further, kristen@psouth.net
