Just curious as to what kinda diapers everyone prefers. I've heard huggies are thicker and more absorbant than pampers, but every hospital I've been has used pampers. I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind to get. Thanks everyone!

i heard huggies were more expensive so we buy pampers, but yes pampers is not as thick, it can seep through the diaper if not changed regularly

Hiya Nervousmommy2b... here's my two cents for what it's worth. My sister had her baby girl 7 months before I had my daughter. She bought Pampers and swore by them, so I bought Pampers too. They seemed fine, but then I got some Huggies in the mail and tried them and I really liked the fit better than the Pampers. They seemed to have more of a "velcro" tab that was more of a secure fit to me. They also seemed to have more elastic in them and that made them fit better. The Pampers also leaked more and since trying Huggies... I haven't gone back to Pampers. My sister has since switched over to Huggies, though she says she still liked the Pampers Swaddlers for her daughter when she was first born. Hope this helps. Take care.

I used to want to use huggies, and i got a whole bunch from my baby shower but i ended up liking pampers better at first because when i would put them on my daughter the bottom part near her privates would kinda bunch up and smoosh down in the pampers and with the huggies its wouldnt and she would have this big lump that made it harder for her to put her legs together.

i found huggies to be more expensive but the other nappies are cheaper, but also thinner so i was buying them more often so it worked to be the same - money wise. so i choose huggies. also my son has always been a BIG drinker he pee's alot, always has so the thinner nappies did not work for us. beofre my son was toilet trained, we brouhgt both cheaper nappies for the day, thicker better nappies overnight. worked great and washing bedsheets after a leak stoped happening. i find overall huggies to be a better fit and when this baby is born we will buy huggies as much as possible:)

I find Huggies and Pampers to be the exact same price, unless one is on sale and the other isn't. Personally, I hate the Huggies line of product. The wipes are too think and aren't wet enough to really wipe and the diapers I just don't like for some reason. I love Pampers and Luvs are just as good as Pampers I think and a bit less expensive. I was into the best brands for everytihing before I had my son, and now use whatever I have coupons for! I never ever used coupons in my life, but it's sort of fun! In the end, they're all basically the same.

I am using Morrisons brand after reading a review in a pregnancy magazine where they rated highly in line with the big brands.. they havent let us down and they are two thirds of the price of pampers..

I like huggies with my boys and pampers for my girls... I had leaking issues for my girls when using huggies, and leaking issues for my boys when using the pampers... weird, but true. But I love the huggies for boys and the pampers for girls... maybe it's where each brand has most of it's absorbancy area (boy- up front, and girl on the bottom/middle area):o)

We're Pampers fans - also, when you buy a pack of Pampers, it pays for one vaccine for where they are needed. Also they aren't as bunchy, and great for sensitive skin!

Here is the truth from a mother of three and former daycare teacher of five years...pampers are the way to go. The price of each is comparable, however huggies smell. If your baby drips one drop of urine in a huggies diaper she will stink. I have had huggies leak several times...while I can think of no time that pampers have leaked. Also, my youngest daughter could not tolerate huggies (apparently the urine absorbing gel they use irritated her skin). So I am a huge fan of pampers. Go with them.

I personally prefer pampers. I bought huggies when my daughter was 1st born b/c they had umbilical cord care. But they didnt fit her right so i switched to pampers swaddlers and loved them. I just folded the top down below her umbilical cord. Now shes 1 and had never worn a another diaper besides pampers.
