I don't know really, but i'd have to say a big yes to this. My son is going to be 10 months in a week and i'm not myself. I have alot of other things in my life that factor in but I think they are flared up moreso than they would have been before. I don't know. I just know that things are different and I don't like it. I am still b___stfeeding so I plan to wait until i'm done with that to go back to the doc and be put back on anti-depressants. I stopped over a year before my son was conceived. I'm handling things ok and put on a happy face, think about my son, do what I have to do for his sake, and just try to think as positively as I can. Very hard.

Yes. try seeking out a ppd support group in your area. A public health nurse should be able to help you with that. But you should also have your Dr. check you for anemia and test your thyroid fuction. Both can cause depression and fatigue and are common problems in first year (or longer) after giving birth.

i was getting on here to ask that same thing almost, except my son is 7 1/2 months and also, i was at a healthy weight prepregnancy, i gained 25lbs but i've lost 40lbs since! i'm only 100lbs and i haven't been that weight since jr high! i think i'm dying, my baby is my only source of joy...so i thought this whole time it couldn't be ppd if my baby makes me happy, i thought if my baby made me sad it was ppd. ugh i don't know, my bf says i need to get myself together, he obviously doesn't know how to approach a person reaching out for help, i think he is socially umm retarded. i guess i've been having problems this whole time even before delivering but i always said there was a reason for my feelings, you know like i had a fight with my mom or we were moving into a new house with a new baby and so on, making excuses for this feeling, but every now and then i'd break down and last night was the worst i lost my mind.

yes it is entirely possible!!!! Talk to your doctor about trying an antidepressant, it could be tough to get rid of this on your own
