Hi ladies-Quick question. I just had my baby via c-section 2 weeks ago and had really bad carpal tunnel from 2nd trimester all through the rest of the pregnancy. I haven't felt my fingers in either hand since 7 months pregnant. Here I am 2 weeks after giving birth and I still cannot feel my fingers!! I thought that all that would go away once the baby was out and the swelling decreased. Has anyone else had this happen? And should I start worrying enough to go the doctor? Could this be permanant??

Hello, I am 12 weeks pp and just had to have cortisone shots in both wrists. I developed DeQuervain's tendonitis in both wrists at 7 months. It is similar to carpal tunnel, but it is on the side of the wrist at the base of the thumb. The tendon on each wrist would get caught on the bone and snap from about 7 months on. It hurt to write and pick up objects. I thought once I had my dd that it would go away, but it didn't. I feel better after the shots (had them a week ago), hopefully that's all I'll need.

Like you, I've got nasty carpal tunnel. My friend had it really bad during her pregnancy and for about 2 mos after her baby was born before it went away. I think it just takes a while. This is a worry of mine too!

Mine lasted about 3-4 months after I gave birth. It was hell. It did go away, though, thank God.
