Clinically depressed people are at a MUCH higher risk of experiencing severe postpartum depression. Regular women experience it commonly but take someone who is already depressed and then make their hormones go crazy etc and it can be really bad. The answer is whatever it is, your regular depression or postpartum depression, they are both depression and if it doesn't pa__s off shortly you must seek treatment. My doc has advised me to get ready for a tough time after birth bc of my history with depression and that I will need support and maybe adjustments to medications.
