Megan- i didnt take effexor for PPD but i have taken it for depression. I found that i had to take my pills at the same time everyday no later or i would be dizzy, felt electric shocks up my spine, and was shaky. Have you been taking them at the same time? I was on them for 9 months then was weaned off them. After a few months i felt great. If you have any q's just post them here.

hi, I am on effexor right now for ppd. i had my baby 6 months ago as was on meds with in a week. It took a while to adjust to the medicine I am on a 75mg. At first I was so tired I wouldn't even get up to feed my mother had to bottle feed my little girl. The medicine mad me so tired. I was very dizzy at first but after about 6 weeks it goes away it takes time to adjust in your body. I am thinking of upping my dose. If I miss a pill by hours or a day I become a super b___h towards my husband. But I find I am now the loving super mom I alway thought I'd be but my husband gets all the mood swings. If I take them exactly every 24hours I dont get the mood swings. give it time. Talk to people about it dont be embarresed alot of us new moms go through it. We have to stay stong our little ones nee us as do our partners. take care and good luck

I took effexor too and it just made me sick. I have taken every kind of depression medication known to man and now that I am not taking any at all i feel a hell of a lot better. effexor caused me to have panic attacks. I do not think it is you i think it is the drugs.
