Hi! Maybe some of you who have experienced hemorrhoids cna help me here. I had no problems with hemorrhoids while pregnant, and at my 6 week check the Dr. said everything looked good and I didn't have any then. But in the last couple month, it's been getting very painful when I have a BM and it bleed there when I wipe. The spot where it is sore and bleeding is right at the end of my episotomy/tear scar. Oh, and my baby is 6 months old. My question is, can hemorrhoids show up this far after giving birth - does this sound like hemorrhoids to you? Or could it be from the episiostomy and tearing (my baby has wide shoulders - gonna be a football player lol)? Thanks for any advice!

I would definately go get it checked out. If its hemorrhoids or a fissure it can be treated and the sooner the better.

Thanks for answering, J - just a silly question - what's a fissure?

Not a silly question at all...I didn't know myself until I got one a few weeks back. It's a tear in the rectum...and very painful. It could be either hemorrhoids or a fissure or both (which is an evil cruel thing to happen to a person). I would go to your doc and get him/her to check it out. Start taking some extra fibre & lots of water to avoid constipation. GL to you!

Well, I didn't have any hemorrhoids during pregnancy or even right after.....I developed a small one - my doc called a fischer on the right side of the opening oh at about 4-6 weeks postpartum! It felt like 100 knives were stabbing me when I went to the bathroom, and I also bled a little with it. My doc prescribed me "Proctofoam" which has been sooooooooooo wonderful! So check into it! I had a 4th degree tear - tore from my urethra all the way to my a___l area, It was horrible, but really after all the st_tches were out, I had some tender areas, but nothing that was painful. So, your's sounds like a hemorrhoid. They can develop anytime!
