Last year, on thanks giving of 2011, I miscarried. I was told my sack never developed a fetus, and i'm almost positive it said it was a blighted overum. I believe that happened for a reason because I was no were near ready to be a mom. I recently found out I am pregnant again. I haven't had the chance to go to the doctors yet because I need to get on medi-cal. I am very scared that I am going to have another blighted overum because I have been reading and it seems like it is common to be reoccurring. I am really scared. Has anybody had a similar situation, and everything turned out fine?

Hi,
I had a blighted ovum with my first pregnancy. I think the doctor wanted me to wait a bit to get pregnant again, but I was not used to using birth control as it took me five years to get pregnant the first time. I became pregnant 11 months or so later again and I carried that baby fine. He is now a wonderful 23 yr. old Miles... healthy and happy. So, I don't know if it is common for it to happen again. I know I was nervous about losing my second pregnancy until around the sixth month... but I had no morning sickness and it was a good pregnancy with a healthy birth. I wish you the best. I drank a lot of carrot juice, high in calcium and took care of myself... gentle walks and good food and rest.
Blessings.
