Please go for a second opinion!
I was pregnant in December 2011 and had no symptoms whatsoever of miscarrying but when I went for a scan, they advised that I'd suffered a blighted ovum (empty womb) and I would miscarry in the next few weeks. I had the option for a d&c or to wait out the miscarriage but I decided to do a d&c as I wanted to be able to try and conceive as soon as possible afterwards. I had the d&c and it was fine, except when I read about blighted ovums and some people have waited it out, to see if the miscarriage would occur, and some do, but some don't.
If you have any reservations whatsoever, get a second opinion.
I would have thought they would do a blood screening as well though
Good luck to you!
