Katharine--I'm so sorry for your loss. You are right when you say only those who have gone through a mc can understand what we are feeling. I think this extends to some point our spouses. They are so loving and supporting, but don't fully understand what we are going through. As far as trying again, I know it depends on the type of mc and how far along you are as to whether your body is healthy enough. My doctor didn't discourage us from trying right away nor did she rush us into it. Her main worry is that we would be ready in all aspects and had healed emotionally. I'm playing the waiting game to see if we were able to conceive on our own without Clomid this time. I wish you lots of luck and baby love. You have an angel up there watching over you now. Take care and keep us posted. --Amy from Texas

Amy, thanks for your response, it is so nice to speak with someone on the other side of the world, yet someone whom I have this experience in common with and thus we have great empathy for each other. Your posts show how caring you are to other people about their losses, goes to show what a huge heart you have and what a brilliant mummy you will be when the time is right! I have been having really light cramping all day, so wondering if AF is on the way? Best of luck to you and all the other ladies reading this.....PS My best friend Nat tried for almost 2 years to get pregnant, finally she was diagnosed with PCOS and went on Metformin, then Clomid.....this was mid-2004 and she is now 26 weeks pregnant with twins, and has had a dream pregnancy....I really hope you are as lucky......Katharine...Baby dust to all!!!

Katharine--Thank you for your kind words. We seem to be kindred spirits. This site has helped me realize I need to not be so worrisome and doubtful. I got off bc December 2004. A month later, my doctor diagnosed me with PCOS. The glucophage/metformin did not work, so a month later she put me on clomid and we got pregnant the first try. I know I should be happy that at least I succeeded in getting pregnant so quickly--it's just hard when you have wanted something so much for so long. I put off having kids until I finished my two degrees, so now I'm 32. I also understand that worrying and stressing too much is not a healthy environment for getting pregnant. Thank you for your wonderful responses. They are encouraging and very helpful. You are a sweetheart!! Take care of yourself and know we are thinking about you. Sorry about the cramping. :-( Just remember to focus on the blessings you have and will receive in the future! Good luck!

Well I made an appointment with my OB, it is for tuesday. He said that I shouldn't be getting a positive pregancy test still, so he would like to do a blood pregancy test to see what my Hcg legels are. He said it was possible for one of the three babies to survive. I guess it is a wating game and I will see in due time. I hope all is well with everyone. Peace and Happiness~Kristy~New York~

My fingers are crossed for you Kristy, only we ladies who have experienced the loss of one baby, let alone more than one, can understand just how much you want there to be a baby in there. I'm really, really, really sending good luck vibes. Please let us know how you get on.
Amy, I will be thinking of you and looking for your name on the posts, so let us all know how you go with/without Clomid...your doctor won't be the only one doing a dance of joy when you get a BFP.... when the time is right...baby dust to all... XXX Katharine

I am the owner and a teacher of my montessori school and am really wanting to get back to school. Well just curious. I will be thinking of you all and you will be in my prayers.
Peace and Happiness,

ok now that i've read all of these, i have a question..... I mc on 5/11, with a week of light spotting before. I was 9 weeks. I have been very "frisky" all weekend, which is usually my sign of ovulation, just out of curiosity i took a ovulation test last night. it was positive, but im wondering if it could be a false positive. the timing seems right, but im still a little unsure. i took a hpt this morning, had one left over, just to see if would be negative yet. there was faint line, which i am a__suming is leftover hormones, am i right? love and baby dust to all!! good luck, cause i know how much it sucks to have a chance at motherhood yanked out from under you....

Kristy--I took about a week off of work. Physically, my mc wasn't as rough.....I had a "normal" mc. As soon as I felt up to going back both mentally and physically, I returned. Only you can truly know what you are able to handle.
Pennylayne--Everything I have read suggests that you can ovulate as early as 2 weeks after mc. I wish you all the luck in the world.
Lot's of peace, love, and baby dust to everybody!

Amy, Hi I hope you are doing well. I understand how you feel waiting untill you can emotionally handle it. Trust me, I was at school walking down the hall to another cla__s (my 2 year old sons cla__s) when it happened. it was like when you are pregant and your water breaks, a gush of fluid, except this time it was horid! I am glad that I have a great support staff at my job and I was easily able to leave knowing that every thing would be run as if I was there. I guess it all depends what you do for a living. I find my self thinking about it more when I am home alone. I still send my other three kids to school, I do't waht them to get out of their routine. I have explained the MC to our oldest (she is almost 5) the other two are to young to know (2 & 1). But I really can't wait to get back to school. I hope all is well with you and Kathrine. Talk to you all soon, Peace & Happiness (and yes... I give you both baby dust back! with love!) Kristy P.

Well I went to the doc today because I hadn't started my period since my mc, but didn't have a positive pregnancy test. She sent me home with progesterone to "jump start" my period. This entails taking 5 days worth of progesterone then waiting another 7-10 days after that for the actual period to start. Add on to that waiting 5 more days of bleeding before starting Clomid with another 7-10 days after that before ovulating.....I'm sure you can see my thoughts as I saw the days start to add up before I could try again. So, I got home and took day 1 of the progesterone.....lo and behold ....I started bleeding tonight! So YAY! I don't have to wait all of those extra days before I start Clomid. I'll start that in 4 days. Like all of you, I am trying to find the positive things to be happy about. Peace, love and lots of baby dust to all! Good luck and God bless!! --Amy from Texas

Amy, Good luck on your way to have your baby. As you know I started my period and it was a terrible feeling, I felt like I had the M/C all over again. I now feel like it wasn't meant to be and want to go get on birth control because it hurt so bad and I am getting older and I already have two beautiful children ages 5 and 6. Maybe it just wasn't meant to happen. Good luck to everyone. I read your comments everyday. thanks

I too read the answers everyday, or at least when I find time to log on. I am looking forward to the day when I can give you all good news again, and also looking forward to the day when I hear good news from all of you. In the meantime, let's think positive thoughts about how everyday that goes past (even if we are not yet pregnant) we are getting better physically - not to mention getting closer to the days of having a baby!
I am very aware of any twinges or slight cramps in my back or lower tummy, as I am waiting to get my period (when???who knows when but I had my D and c after a missed miscarriage on May 6). Naturally I can't help hoping that I managed to get pregnant (we did the Baby Dance twice on May 18...I went to write 18/5 but remembered the American ladies put the dates in the opposite order!!!). Logically my mind knows this is SO unlikely but I must say I felt much more positive after we did, like I was finally back on the road to eventually ovulating again and getting pregnant. So I am keeping track in a little notebook signs in my body, taht way I will be able to lok back and realise "ahhh...I may have been ovulating" etc etc. Everyone, keep on writing, it's great we can be such a support to each other. What on earth did people do before the internet?????

Just wanted to let everyone know their stories are so encouraging. We are all in this together. I m/c on 5/11, (6 weeks) after only finding out I was pg on 5/7. I had a natural mc, and stopped bleeding on 5/17. We have been trying and I am hoping for a bfp soon. (hopefully I can be one of the lucky ones who conceives before af). Thanks to all for encouragement!

Hello ladies...
Well I did go to the Dr's office on Tuesday, and I found out that yes I did mc all 3 babies. I stopped bleeding on Wedensday and on Thursday My hubbie and I started the babie dance, I know that I won't be ovulating yet, but I figure if I just do it every day then I can't miss it! I have tried the ovulation kit and I always get negative, I dont know maybe I'm using it wrong or something. Amy I am glad to here that you don't have to wait as long as you expected you would have to, todays drugs are amazing!!! my mom is a Dr. and I have always been told that they are made for a reason and with good proof they work and work well. (I personaly have tried to stay with as much natural products as possible I now that meds work well.)
Oh yah I also went back to work on wed. My kids in cla__s had so many questions why I haven't been there, It felt so good to be back. Well I wish everyone extra baby dust! Hay Katharine hows the Eastern Hamisphere?
Peace& Happiness,
Kristy - New York
