Suzie, I have heard that the time you ovulate can vary after a m/c. Also, the time it takes for af to come also varies. I had a d&c a little over 5 weeks ago. Thought I would get af at 4 weeks...At 4 wks, I had some menstrual like cramping, but no af. Maybe ovulation cramps?? Anyways, shortly after that, I started leaking lots of clear fluid (I'm thinking maybe ovulation, hopefully?). That didn't go away though, I have had this type of discharge for over a week now. I hope that this means that af will come soon b/c that's when I plan to ttc again. Anyone ever heard of so much clear fluid?

Thanks Amy for the advice. But the instruction label on the kit says "DO NOT USE FIRST MORNING URINE". It's 5 weeks for me now, still no af. My mum-in-law coming for visit this week, we didn't tell her of the prior failed pregnancy so till now she thinks I am infertile. :(

I just had a miscarriage two weeks ago at 6 weeks. My Doctor told me to go for it again as soon as I felt ready. I had a miscarriage with a D&C about 9 years ago. Two and a half weeks later I got pregnant with my darling, not 8 year old daughter! The only possible problem with not waiting that time, was that I had a marginal placenta previa - which may or may not have been due to the uterus being raw up top (where the first pregnancy implanted) due to the D&C. I didn't have to hav a D&C this time, so am not going to wait this time either. I'm almost 37, so I don't have a lot of time.

I was told by my ob that you should wait until your next normal period before trying to get pregnant again. That is about all she told me. I don't know when that will be. It is one week after I had my u/s, and I can't even imagine ttc at this point because I am so upset. Does this go away because I really do want a baby?

hd, dun feel too sad, I believe the ladies on this panel had also gone through the phase. I too felt disappointed, sad and everything else but it gets better as the days go by. Now, I am just anxious of getting pregnant and I wonder the stress is delaying my af?? It's been 5.5 weeks since m/c, I hope it will come soon, if not give me a positive on conception!

Hello just wanted to comment to AN and hd.An I m/c Feb 12th with a D&C felt started feeling mens cramps on and off for a week a week ago thought I was starting but nothing thought I was maybe ovulating but no fluid like you speak of,then light spotting four days ago then my period .I had no b___st tenderness as I usually did w/ normal periods and I never had cramping that far ahead.Its definately not as it was. Hd ,I am sorry for your loss,those first few weeks are the worst,I was 14 weeks when I m/c.Thought I was home free.The dissapointment was overwhelming,I didn't work for 3 weeks.But your focus shifts when you read of other womens loss and see their strength .When I had people that I knew tell me of their loss.Knowing that miscarriage is almost as common as birth,I stopped feeling like a faliure.We all process our loss differently and there is no getting around the sadness,but as time goes by you cry less and you look foward to trying again.Allow yourself this time and the healing will begin.

It took me 6 weeks to get a period after my d&e. My cycle for that month was 40 days!!! I am hoping my second cycle (this one is more normal- 30 days before m/c). It is hard to predict anything after a m/c I am ttc again, am using opk's and looking at my cm and cervix. I don't want to miss any chances. We are also bd every other night. As I said, it's so unpredictable I don't want to miss any little thing. So, cross fingers!

I went in for a regular OB check up on March 3rd and found out there was no heartbeat, after 2 USs I was told that my baby had died. I was 13 weeks pregnant. I had a D&C the next day and was told it was ok to have s_x in 1 wk. I was barely bleeding after 5-6 days and this weekend did have s_x. Now I'm bleeding badly again... no pain or cramping, but bleeding and it's much darker than usual... is this normal or is there something wrong? I have no idea if I'm ovulating.

Andrea- First off I am sorry to hear about your m/c! I too m/c about the same time. I was about 11 weeks but baby dies at 7.8-8. What day did you have your D&C? I was told to wait two weeks before having s_x to let everything heal. I have heard its not unusual to bleed but if you are bleeding alot I would call your DR. I had a D&C on the 7th and just had s_x for the 1st time yesterday and I haven't had any problems. If you continue to bleed I would chack with a Dr to make sure you were completely healed.

I waited 2 weeks before we had s_x, but still had about a week of spotting afterward!

Andrea after my D&C I didn't bleed for 3 days when I visited my doc she told me I would start bleeding and I did and it lasted a week,I imagine the s_x probably got it going.Its normal to bleed for a week so if goes on longer call your doc.Also it took 35 days for a period and I could never tell if I was ovulating,but some women just know.We ttc once after the m/c but I realized it was frustrating enough to wait for a period that had no real due date then to think I might be pregnant on top of things,it was to much confusion and I see women on here struggling with same thoughts.Its hard to not try ,but I can see why its smart to wait atleast one cycle.

I'm in the same boat - I m/c 26 days ago and still no signs of 0.

If you had a D&C I would wait at least 2 cycles before trying again. Give your body time to heal.

I started my m/c on 3/2 @ 7.5 weeks with very painful cramps and light bleeding. I hadn't seen a dr (was going to see him at 10 wks). So I went to ER--no help. The cramps were really bad. This was my first pregnancy; don't know what’s going on. I thought the worst of my pain was over--but on 3/7 the pain was back. My cramps were so bad I couldn’t stand, sit, walk, lie down or cry. After an hour of screaming in pain I was ready to go to the ER for morphine. As we got to the ER the pain went away so I went home. As I got out of the car I felt that awful gush that I had on 3/2 and pa__sed the fetus. I didn't have a D&C because I pa__sed it naturally. After almost 3 weeks of bleeding I finally stopped on Sunday. Hubby was so excited (he has blood issues and gets squeamish around it) and we were intimate that night. I heard you are fertile after m/c. I want to ttc soon but I have never known when I am ovulating and I don't even know where to start counting to figure out when I ovulate.

Hello All! I chickened out on testing last weekend but tested last night and I am preg again...as soon as the pos sign appeared all fears sort of melted away...I am trying not to be too optomistic as this is 3rd preg in 1yr 1/2 but each one brings such hope! I pray for us all for healthy babies!
