Okay, guys. I am new to this site. I am beyond any realm of hope or disbelief. I have a healthy 3 year old boy at home with me, however the first and viable pregnancy that I carried full term was from another father of a previous marriage. I have had 2 previous miscarriages naturally over a year ago after him. I found out I was pregnant on the 12th of august. I had spotted for about two hours one day a week or so before I took my test. I immediately made a doctors appointment with my previous miscarriages where he told me I was around 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. We scheduled an ultrasound about a week after the appointment which was on the 15th. The ultrasound showed nothing. No sac, no yolk, no heart beat, just thick lining of my uterus. There was no evidence of an ectopic or molar pregnancy. My doctor then ordered hcg testing over a course of about a week. My levels were at 37,000 and then went up to 44,000. They were supposed to double, however did not. He said the numbers were high, and something should have appeared on the first ultrasound. He said that an ectopic or molar pregnancies are rare, and are extremely possible in this case. He said that typically you would have abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. I have had some abdominal pain that lasts very short, only about 30 seconds and it's very high up in my abdomen since before I found out I was pregnant. I have woken up in the middle of the night with some pretty good cramping, but it always goes away and only happens every few nights. No vaginal bleeding. I have essentially diagnosed myself with a molar pregnancy and have come to the conclusion that I will have to evacuate this pregnancy. Does this mean my husband and I can't have children? I just don't understand. Has anyone else had this experience? Please share.
