DiGiacomo & Dicegirl15 ~~~ this is my second baby and I am also scared of the delivery. But I am more scared of the surgery. I have to have a repeat c section. My first was breech with his feet first so that is why i had to have the c section. I was thinking that I would try for the VBAC but dumb me I googled natural chidbirth and that scared the holy c___p out of me. I still thought that I would give it a try because I wanted to at least say that I tried it. But after talking with differnent doctors and my mom who is a nurse I think that I will just settle with another c section. I am 20 weeks and 1 day as of today. We go on a tour of the hospital in about 6 to 8 weeks. I am excited for that. I have been shopping my b___t off also. I have not bought that many clothes yet, because my mom and sisters are going crazy with that. I did get the stroller carseat travel system, cute little pink swing, and ba__sinett pack n play. Were at the half way mark and that is so exicted.
I love the fact that I have not gained that much weight. Each time I go in to the doc its like every 4 weeks the nurse tells me that I only gained a pound. Thats great being that I gained 45 pounds with my first.

munchmom04 this is my second baby and im also scared of delivery as i also had a c sec with my 1st but after discussing it with my midwife i have decided to try for a vbac because i was soooo ill after my 1st c sec tht i dont think i could go through that again!! with a csec your unable to do things for a while and HOPEFULLY with a natural birth you can be back to normal quite quickly. i am 20 weeks tommorow and havent bought anything yet as im having a scan next week and hopefully going to find out what s_x its is!! then i can go mad lol

joanneg~~ yeah i was not suppose to be doing anyting but resting, but hubby and I were in the process of moving so I was up cleaning and packing boxes and even cooking. BIG MISTAKE on my part! I did not have a set back or anything like that, but I was in pain alot. I wanted to try VBAC but I am so scared of the process. I was in the hall when my sister had her 2nd and I heard her screaming and all of that I was like oh no I cant do it. Then on top of that my doc does not due VBACS. That sucks because I was not even given a option. I am looking into changing doc though. I am waiting on paperwork and other things to get finalized with medicaid before I can see him. That also sucks. Oh yeah and I love the fact that I get to pick my daughters birthday. She will be born by c section on my grandmother birthday. My grandmother pa__sed away when I was 13 on Mothers Day. I loved her so much and everyone say that we looked just alike. I still honestly dont know if I want to do another c section or not, I just think that I am so scared of VBAC. Good luck with your scan!

Oh my Labour...My DH tells me I should stop watching TLC as I watch back to back episodes of A baby Story. There was one where when my husband came home and I said that maybe I should get an epidural because we might be divorced by the time the baby is delivered. Every time I think about the labour I just hope i don't need to have a c-section. I want to do it as natural as possible.
As for the pre-natal cla__ses there isn't any for the months of July so I will be taking them in August. I guess we should have taken them now but the clinic here refers you when you are one to two months into your third trimester. Oh well. At least it will be fresh in my mind at the time of the birth. I am not unaware of what will happen since i have taken a lot of courses in biology and well reading the books. I think it will just be a refresher and then my husband will truely be aware of what will happen. I predict that DH will faint while I am labouring. But we will see. I just want to keep my composure as best as possible.
Di- I don't leak a lot and not often. I noticed it after bding and after we went camping. If the b___st is squeezed then i leak. Some women don't even get it but it is in there.
As for shopping for the baby. We haven't even had time to do any shopping. We have a carseat and stroller and that is it. I am sure it will all come together soon enough.
Hope everyone is well.

dicegirl~ I am due on October 30th...mischief night :) lol. I'll be 20 weeks on Friday. Can't believe I am halfway there! I am still getting weekly ultrasounds and I see my OB every other week. I also just had to see a urologist because I can't get rid of my bladder infection, so now I'm on 3 weeks of amoxocillin!! I'm lucky my job is understanding of all these appointments, but the copays are killing me. I haven't started buying anything yet!! We are renovation our house and the nursery hasn't even been started yet. Plus I come from a huge family so I'm sure I'll get most of what I need at my shower. We'll just buy the furniture ourselves. Glad everyone else is doing well. Congrats on the girl munchmom! One of very few girls in this forum :)

It's my second and I'm still worried about the delivery sometimes. Although I am not as stressed about it. I do encourage everyone to read about it, but watching shows & videos... I know that freaked me out too. Remember something: you will not see (unless you want a mirror) your v____a while delivering, and it's a good thing! (at least for me) My husband was also ordered to stay by my head, and he did.
Also, while considering options (i.e. natural labor, etc), my only advice would be to have an open mind and to be flexible and aware that things may have to be done differently because lots of stuff happens during the delivery. For me, I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have the epidural. They eventually took the forceps to take my daughter out, and believe me, they are a foot long. I can only imagine what it would have been if I didn't have the epi. And when that happens, the baby usually has to come out fast; no time to wait for the anasthesiologist. Anyway, all I mean to say is to keep an open mind.
DiGiacomo: I'm going to deliver at the Queensway-Carleton, just like last time. The staff was wonderful and the rooms too.
Sbea: I kind of figured that was the reason for not telling the s_x... can't believe such a "custom" goes on here!
Oh, and congrats to every lady that found out they were having girls! :-)
I think we have a nice balance of blue&pink on this board!!

hey i had a question.....
are any of you mommies to be having more than one baby shower? and when are you having your baby shower if you are having one?
My reason for asking is that I come from a very large blended family, and between the months of July and August most of each family will be in and out of town.
I did not know how to plan it where everyone would be here so my sis decided that we just need to have two showers. So I wil be having one in July and one in August so that everyone can come and participate. Its a big deal because this is the first girl in 6 years!
I was wondering if it sound like we are being greedy, but for the one in July we did not even put on the invitations where we are registered at. I think that most of the people that are going to come to Julys shower will be most of my family. Then in August hubbys mom, sisters, and other mom, will be able to join us and our friends to celebrate. Oh yeah my sis will be here from Illinois also.
I am just asking what you ladies think of that?

hey munchmon,
I think I'll be hvaing more than one shower, too. I've had three entirely different groups of people ask me about showers - work, friends, and family. And I really think it would be too much to have everyone in one place at one time. If people are offering it, then I don't think it will sound greedy. Just be clear that if someone gets invited to two, you aren't expecting TWO gifts.
I haven't been on in a while. Things are just scooting along nicely, and I finally feel really good and can eat anything. I'm 24w today.
Here's my question. Is 24 weeks the beginning of the 3rd trimester because it's been 12 weeks, or is 28 weeks the beginning because that's 12 weeks from the end?!

wunder~~ i think that it is still in the second trimester. The timeline is like this:
First
Month 1 = Weeks 1-4
Month 2 = Weeks 5-8
Month 3 = Weeks 9-13
Second
Month 4 = Weeks 14-17
Month 5 = Weeks 18-21
Month 6 = Weeks 22-26
Thrid
Month 7 = Weeks 27-30
Month 8 = Weeks 31-35
Month 9 = Weeks 36-40

Munch- I wouldn't say that I having more than one shower sounds greedy. Like what Wunder suggested, make sure anyone invited to both knows they aren't expected to bring two gifts. I know if I was closer to my family I would probably have two as the Church usually puts one on and then my family would. However I am probably only going to have one, but it should be full of people. However I won't be having my shower until after the baby is born. Since we don't know the s_x of the baby we need to wait.
Wunder- I can't believe we are almost in the home stretch. I am 24 and a half weeks now.
well on a different note, last night I slept wonderfully. I am starting to get used to the baby movements and sleeping through the night. Well only if it cools off. We don't have A/C so it can get really hot in our place.
Hope you all have a great week.

Munchmom and Wunder- The pregnancy book that I am reading right now starts the third trimester at 25 weeks. I don't know why they can't be more evenly spread out...it is odd. I am now wondering weather or not to join the third trimester board starting next week or not. (Next Thursday I will be 25 weeks! WOW!!) What do you ladies think? Also...I wouldn't worry about having two baby showers. It just means there are a lot of people who love you and care for you, and you want all of them to be included in this VERY special time!

Dicegirl~~ wow they start it at 25 weeks. I get so confused in trying to figure out weeks to months. Its like every where I read it tells me something different. Well I guess I have 4 weeks and 3 days before I am in the 3rd trimester. I would join the 3rd trimester board, you know just in case you have concerns or questions they are all around the same weeks or months that you are and probably have been through it and can answer your questions or concerns with no problem. We will hate to see you go, but then again we will not be too far behind you.
Thanks that is what I was worring about. People thinking that we are begging for things. Even though we did not put on the invitations for the shower in July where we are registered at.
Good luck with your last 3 months!

Third trimester is 25 weeks? Then I would be starting nest Tuesday. Crazy. Dice I don't think I will move over yet. I might have one foot here and then check out the the Third Trimester board. I don't think there will be many of us moving over next week. Also my Doctor told me I wouldn't be starting my 3rd trimester until June 30th.

sbea- I think I will do the same as you. Stay on this board and just check in on the third trimester board to see what is going on over there. I here what you are saying about hardly anyone being over there yet. I am due October 1st, so I am just a couple days behind you. I start my 25th week next Thursday. I guess I am just excited to move over thinking it means I am closer to the end of being pregnant LOL! It is crazy, it feels like the weeks are flying by! I can't wait to meet this little guy, but at the same time there is so much to do to get ready for his arrival!
I hope that when I do finally move over the the third trimester board, I will see you all very soon!

Hi Ladies!
Third trimester starts at 27 weeks. This is just complicated because people think a pregnancy is 9 months... which is not, it's more like 9 1/2!!!!
I too don't think having 2 showers is a bad thing. It's probably easier to handle for you too!!! Good luck with that!
I'm doing OK. Just hit the 23 weeks mark this last Saturday... which made me think... I have to order the furniture!! LOL, I thought I had much more time than this left on my hands! Last time, it took 6-8 weeks to get it, so I better get started on it right now!
Have you guys chosen the colour of the nursery yet??? I'm thinking light green... I don't know.

So I had my doctors appointment yesterday. It was great, went well. I also got to hear the baby's heart beat. It was great but I could tell right away that it is even slower than the last time. I wasn't concerned since he made the comment "Sounds like a boy". So we laughed and said we will see what the s_x is at birth. Not knowing the s_x for me is making me want to get the birth over with so I can find out. I am so excited.
Well I hope everyone is well.
