HELP CAT Scan And Quantatative Blood Test

Okay, here it goes: I have been trying for MONTHS to get pregnant and have a history of miscarriage including an etopic that lead to the removal of one tube and the other cut. The cut one grew back and I was blessed with my son 5 years later. HOWEVER, its been 10 years since then. I have been trying for the last year to get pregnant and I FINALLY believed it has happened. My symptoms are so text book - Nausea, sensitive to certain smells, elevated temps, bloating when I eat, AF cramps 2 weeks prior to my period being due. I also have an abundance of lotion like discharge that is white, and my nipples hurt. Two days ago, I have had this metallic taste in my mouth. SO, after many stick tests being negative, I needed to know if I was and plus I was having cramping and scared that I may miscarriage if I am pregnant so I needed to make sure. Keep in mind: LMP March 28th 2011. Today as I type I am 6 days till my period. I ended up in the ER and they did a urine test and it was NEG. They then decided a CAT Scan and other tests were more important than anything because the Urine test was not positive. I kept telling them of my past history with pregnancy and even with my son, my levels werent high until 3 weeks AFTER I was late with my period, but wanted to be certain to weigh out pregnancy or to see if there was anything else causing me these symptoms. They did a Quantatative Blood test and they said it was NEG, AFTER the CAT Scan. My question is....Can the Quant be wrong due to being 7 days before my period? If it IS wrong, can the CAT scan caused issues due to the radiation? I feel so pregnant, and I cant understand why they gave me prescriptions for Antibiotics (though they found ZERO INFECTION), Pain killers (Loratab) and also Promethazine for Nausea. I dont know what to do. They gave me this stuff even though CAT scan was normal, Pelvic Culture for infection was Normal, No infection in Blood work....WHY ANTIBIOTICS??? Someone help...]Could I be pregnant and the Hospital wrong? :( Im so sad and confused.

Seems like you are overly anxious about this possible pregnancy. Why did you go to the ER - major pain, or concern over the pregnancy? You must have amazing insurance and an ER that is bored out of its tree. Test again if and when your period is late and repeat a week later if still in doubt. Your signs sound good, a__suming they started only a few days ago. GL!

I went for both reasons...I went due to the cramping and low grade temps with the knowledge that if I was pregnant, I wanted some idea of if it may or may not be viable due to having so many m/c's. I know they couldnt help much but I was scared, nervous and also hoping for an answer of YAY or NAY. For my son, they put me on a light schedule due to having issues within the early stages. I was just scared of a repeat I suppose. I NEVER in a million years thought they would test for Kidney Stones, Gall Stones (I HAD MY GALL BLADDER REMOVED AT AGE 15 and Im 33 now), and appendix! I mean...WOW! They never listened to me and took a Quant Blood test per the request of the Radiologist before the CAT Scan. When it all came back negative, I was let down but then questioned the accuracy of the Quant Test at 7 dpo. Today, I am 10 dpo and have been nauseous, and experienced being dizzy and having hot flashes at work. I even thought AF started and I ran to the bathroom to find it was a clear/white discharge that was watery. I do have excellent insurance and the hospital was PACKED. I just was shocked they didn't do an U/S or anything related to my issues! It was frustrating. They just wanted to gouge my insurance. However, my temp is still high, I am dizzy, having a clear discharge and have been nauseous off and on with dull headaches. Still experiencing cramping...I just hope the blood test was too early and I will FINALLY have succeeded after YEARS of trying again.

Baby dust to you. That "running to the bathroom thinking" only to find lotion discharge is very encouraging. You could try a sensitive home preg test first morning pee on Sunday, but you might have to repeat a week later. Please do let us know if you get a positive. The ER here once sent me home with a pain shot and a burst appendix - lucky to survive that one. Wish they could find a middle road.
