Hey girls! Where is everybody at today? Good to hear from you Becca and Angela! Angela I'm liking your positivity this morning, we definitely need that because I have noticed a difference in everyone and it makes my heart just hurt for all of you. Becca, I don't want you to worry about your bfn today because if you are 10dpo today it could be just way to early for you to get a bfp! I know you read about a lot of early positives, but I think there are just as many not so early positives also! Angela I would definitely be on the phone with my doc and my first question would be why the heck am I not getting monitored...just be straight with them girl because that way you can get a straight answer! Well chicas, I hope it perks up for everybody and Tonia, where are you? We are thinking about you!!!

Beks37 - July 24

Tonia-we're all dying to know your results (good or bad) but hopefully good. I'm gonna go take an opk...ok well it takes like 5 min to show up so I'll check back then. I can already see a line, so I think I may be o'ing soon today or tomorrow. I have today off work-so I'm getting lots done. I still need to go to the eye dr though because my left eye is red and hurts. I've been wearing my gla__ses instead of my contacts for the past 2 days too!!! But I don't know if they can fit me in today :( OH my gosh!!! Guess what..my opk is positive!!! The first positive one I've ever had!! Me and dh are gonna bd tonight! Yay I haven't been this excited since I found out that I o'd for the first time on clomid.

Becca - July 24

Yay, Beks, that's GREAT news! It's time for you to have a party for two! Who--hoo!!!!!

soimpatient - July 24

YAY BEKS!! Have fun Bd-ing tonight!! I'm glad that we have some good news around here! I tried calling my doctor because the pain in my ovaries is getting pretty bad and I wanted to make sure that this is "normal"...well, my doctor's office is closed until August 1st!!! So, I guess I am going to have to tough it out. Bummer.

Becca - July 24

Angela, I know it hurts bad, but I'm 99% sure they will tell you it is normal, so try not to worry. Just wait and see, the second you O, the pain will be gone!

soimpatient - July 24

Thanks for the encouragement Becca! I REALLY hope that I O this month. I seriously don't know if I can handle another month without making some progress.

ma2aiden - July 24

beks - congrats!!! thats great news - i'm very excited for you... angela - isn't there anyone that is taking over for your docs office while they're out?? i'd be a little ticked off if i were you - have you tried to look up on the internet if that is a side effect from clomid?? i know my insides hurt like hell, so hopefully its normal... and i agree w/ kelly - your doc should be doing u/s's to check out where you're at in your cycle while on clomid - i've been being monitored since i started at my fertility doc (even when not on clomid!!) what happened to tonia?? i hope everything is okay and she's just figuring out a way to tell us about her BFP! off to eat a late lunch - been working like a man in the yard w/ the dh - time to relax ;)

Geez Angela, the drs gone til August 1st! That's a long time. I would me mad that someone can't even answer the phone for a question-like a nurse or something. Those dang drs! Well, this weekend I bought new clothes for my new job and dh got a promotion to a manager so we got him new clothes too and spent like $700, on shoes, shirts, pants, socks, etc. They were having a good sale at JCPenneys on Saturday. Eek, I don't wanna see my credit card bill!

soimpatient - July 24

I am very frustrated that my doctor is gone. I just read something about how important it is to have ultrasound monitoring while on clomid. I'm kind of worried that my ovaries might be overstimulated. How long does this pain usually last. It started on Saturday, yesterday was worse and today is the WORST...if I am going to ovulate how many more days of this do you think I am going to have to suffer through?

Becca - July 24

Angela, I remember that it had discomfort for about a week, then it got kind of bad on Sunday. By Monday I was doubled over in my chair at work. I could barely stand up. It felt like I had done a million sit ups and my musles were torn up. I relaxed all evening on the couch and the next day I woke up and the pain was completely gone. I hope this helps!!

Beks37 - July 24

I haven't had constant pains like that, just pressure and pain during bding and then just pains in my ovaries that lasted only a minute or two. I'm not being monitored by ultrasound but I have gone to see the dr for a check-he checks my ovaries-feels them from inside and out. He's been a dr forever-he delivered me 24 yrs (almost 25 yrs) ago, so I'm ok with how hes treating me.

soimpatient - July 24

Thanks Becca & Beks. It doesn't feel like I've done sit-ups it is just in my ovaries and it feels like someone is ripping them out of my body. If it is still this bad tomorrow I think that I might go to the hospital just to make sure that everything is "normal"...I guess I am kind of paranoid. Plus, I had to take the day off of work and I can't keep doing that. TONIA!!! Where are you??? We need to hear your news so that we can start a new thread. I bet you got your BFP and you just want to keep us in suspense;)

Becca - July 24

Angela, I totally understand you're paranoia. I almost asked my manager to call an ambulance but my dr said it was normal to have pain, so I stuck it out. I think, if it is that bad you should go to the hospital, just to be sure. I would have gone if I wasn't able to get in touch with my doctor.

Bing - July 24

Angela - during one of my cycles on clomid I remember the pain being so bad I felt like I was going explode. It was so uncomfortable and bd-ing was like torture! I knew exactly when I o'd because the very next day everything was completely gone. It was so bizarre. I knew by u/s too that month that I had four really good sized follicles. So, you probably have a few follies in there that are causing all this pain, but you wouldn't know it because your dr. isn't doing the u/s for you. I'm not sure if you mentioned this in the past but have you had an HSG? (the test where they make sure your tubes are not blocked). I've always wondered why doctors would put someone on clomid without doing this test first...like, what's the point of creating more follicles if they can't get through? Just some food for thought....

soimpatient - July 24

Becca, I'm pretty sure that I'm just going to stick it out and hopefully I will O soon so that I can get on with my life and my job. Bing, thanks for the encouragement. I really hope that I do have some good follicles in there. My doctor said that I should have a HSG if I am not pregnant after a few cycles of clomid. He said that there is no reason to suspect that my tubes are blocked. I am going to ask him for one at my next appointment. I'd rather have it ruled out. I feel like I am going to O soon but I haven't had a positive OPK (testing twice a day) and I am only on cd13 so I figure that in a few days i should get a positive and then hopefully O a few days after that. If I don't O this cycle I don't know what I am going to do. I wouldn't feel comfortable upping my dose because I would be afraid of being in more pain that I am in now. I guess I'll worry about it when I get there.

Bing - July 24

Angela - just hang in there till O time! It's not too far away now! I think you should definitely mention the hsg to your dr. How does he know there are no blockages??? He's not even doing an u/s for pete's sake! Which he SHOULD be doing to make sure you're responding well to the clomid and developing cysts at the end of each cycle. You may really like your doctor so I'm sorry to keep bringing this up but I think there are routine tests that these doctors should be performing before throwing us on meds. Before I even started one cycle of clomid my doctor conducted bloodwork to test all my hormone levels, did a post-coital, and did a s____n a___lysis for dh - these are all the easy tests. Then we moved onto the hsg. When those were all clear is when I started on clomid. I think it makes a big difference too when you're working with a regular doctor or a RE - I went straight for the RE because I knew they would give me the close monitoring that I needed. Becca - didn't you recently start with a RE? Not to knock our regular ob-gyns but the specialists really know their stuff. I just hate to hear those stories of women who were on six cycles of clomid and THEN found out they had a blocked tube the whole time. If that were me I'd be furious - six months of hot flashes and hormones all over the place is not a fun time, especially if it were for nothing! Sorry to be rambling but I just want to make sure you're getting the best care - and Daina's right...they should have an on-call at your dr.'s office so you can at least get a hold of someone to answer your questions! Geez - don't know why I'm getting so worked up over this (lol)...give me their number...I'm calling them. = P
