Im in my 12th week about to be in my 13th. When will the morning sickness go away? Its not that I'm throwing up, its just the queasy feeling I get, and it never goes away through out the day. Anybody know some home remedies? lol.

Every person is different. Some people have morning sickness throughout their entire pregnancy, others don't have it at all. A lot of times, though, it goes away in the second trimester, which you are about to answer. I've heard a lot of wives' tales about home remedies but I've never heard of anything that worked for a wide range of people.

Yeah morning sickness sucks pretty bad. There are some like lollipop things that they sell at Babies R Us that are *supposed* to relieve it but honestly I've never heard of anything that's worked. When I had morning sickness I'd eat a lot of bread or crackers because *excuse my lack of scientific explanations* they absorb the stuff in your stomach that's making you sick. It is by no means a miracle cure or anything, but it may take the edge off.

I use to eat bread! lots of bread!!! It helped in the beginning, but i had severe morning sickness my whole pregnancy so it didnt work as well once i got to my second tri...It was so bad that I was loseing my normal weight and not gaining any pregnancy weight so my dr told me to always carry pepto bismol with me...I had a bottle at home a bottle at work, and a bottle in my car....same goes for the bread. Stay away from all dairy products. I am lactos intolerant, but i still eat alot of dairy with food, i noticed the dairy products made me way more sick when i was pregnant, so with #1 i cut all dairy products out and i never had morning sickness....other pregnancies though I couldnt prevent it no matter how hard i tried

Ginger is supposed to help, but yeah I went through the phase of not wanting to eat so I would just drink ginger ale. It actually helped a lot. A lot of morning sickness has to do with your blood sugar so you have to try several things that keep your blood sugar level. For me I couldn't be normal and eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'd be on the floor crawling if I waited that long to eat. Try eating every couple of hours. If it's so severe and uncomfortable, try eating a little before you nap or go to sleep then as soon as you wake up from a short nap eat again. For longer sleeping hours try setting your alarm and wake up to snack then go back to sleep. Also, an important component to level blood sugar is what you eat. Sugary substances (which you crave a lot of times) like any sweets, white bread products, starchy foods like potatoes, all spike your blood sugar only to cause it to do a quick sharp dip a short time later. Try heavier longer lasting foods like whole wheat bread, meats, grains, whole grain cereals. In the worst part of my morning sickness I was lacking in a lot of vitamins and could feel it so I craved meat and protein shakes so I started eating a concoction of cereal mixed with a little milk (all milk tasted horrible to me) and I'd put a scoop of protein powder in there and stir only a few times. It's weird I know, but I loved it, and it held me over and I got sick less often. It become my favorite snack and my life saver. The cereal was usually whole grain so it helped the blood sugar and the protein mix gave it an interesting taste on top of giving me other vitamins and minerals I was lacking and it also helps your blood sugar. Now I'm not saying to go eat that, but I'm just saying to try to find healthy foods that are known to hold your blood sugar level and make that what you snack on. You can research food for diabetics (which are people who are needing to maintain a steady level just like you need to) and it could give you insight into foods that will help and foods that will only make things worse so you can stay away from them. Hope that helps and hopefully it makes sense-I'm a little loopy, it's late and I've had little sleep for the past week.
