The fertile window is from cycle day 8 thru 16, a__suming you have a regular 28 day cycle. You ovulate about 14 days before your next period. The egg only lasts one day, but sperm can lie in wait 5 days. Four days after a 6 day period ends would put you at cycle day 10, and the sperm could last until ovulation.
