I dunno, I wasn't there. That's what he said exactly 'guts plopped on the table.' Anywho I really wouldn't want a c-section either. That's scary! Plus the recovery time? God I only spent 2 days in my hospital I felt like it was 2 weeks because I wanted to be home so badly! I was excited to get settled in and officially be taking care of her on my own instead of the nurses doing it... and I wanted to run away from them giving her shots all the time :( Which reminds me I have to make an appointment for her 6 month vaccines... I've been avoiding it because I really hate going :(

amanda.....I saw my c section through the light above me...lol til they made me stop looking...it was of course hard to see...dh husband is really squimish and the drs joked with Zaiden that he was more pale then i was....the first one was so quick cause it was a emergeny that with Zaiden it was like he had never seen one before. watch discovery health they always show them...i know its not the same thing, but they dont really clean it up much......the recovery is the worst, and i dont wish a c sec on anyone but really noone should worry about the surgery going okay, because it will all be fine! i dont recall every worrying about myself while in surgery, just the baby, as long as you are numb and are sure about it (which they check first of course) it is less painful then what you would go through.

I know what you mean. My doctor wore gla__ses and with the bright lights I could see everything in the reflection in them. I was trying not to look but then he gave me an episiotomy and his gla__ses were flushed red. Blood was eeeeeeeverywhere! I also saw her head come out and at first I was like "What the hell is that?!" It was all white and slimy with little black hairs, and I was so out of it I was thinking I had an alien baby! LOL!

So as you ladies know, I had an appointment on the first to see if I had made any progress and if not, my doc would schedule me to be induced later in the week. Well, I get to my appointment and get to the ultrasound and my fluid levels the last time were 6.2 (cm or whatever the measurement is) and they had to stay above 5 to not need to be induced. This time they were 0.4 so I call up my hubby and tell him I may be admitted. I go and see my doc and she does her check and up until the first I had been at 0cm but this time I was at 2cm. Yay! She sits down and asks us how soon we can be into labor and delivery and gives us until 5pm to get our stuff and eat all I want before they don't let me. So we show up at 5 and they put the cervidil in tell me it will be 12 hours before they can check to see if any progress had been made. So around 4am, I wake up to horrible back spasms. Not labor, just spasms. I've had them since I was a kid. The nurse gets me this awesome pain killer called stadol and I go right to sleep. Next thing I know i'm waking up to my doctor checking me and then telling me they were starting the pitocin and that I had dilated to 4cm. Awesome! I went back to sleep lol. Still very drugged at that point.
About an hour later I am awakened by the most horrible pain ever from contractions that were 2 minutes apart. I gave up quickly on the idea of no pain meds and got my epidural. My doc was fine with it because every hour I was dilating 2cm so I was going very smoothly. The guy puts the epi in and I was in heaven and went back to sleep. I was awakened once again by the nurse saying I was 9cm dilated but there was a lip so I had to do some practice pushes to move the baby past the lip. Fine by me, I couldn't feel anything. So she grabs my right foot and my husband grabs my left and pretty much fold me in half and tell me to push 4 times per contraction. After about an hour, we were past the lip and I just had to work on getting to a +2 station so we could get the doctor and really get the party started. After 30 minutes, I had moved the baby where she needed to be but on one of the last pushes, I felt and heard a pop and asked what it was. I was pretty sure I had farted but couldn't care lol. She runs off and gets the doctor and my doc takes one look at how far I am and jumps into her scrubs right there lol. She sits down and tells me “alright we're having this baby right now!” and has me push and push. Well for some reason, the baby's head couldn't make it out, and I hear her say “ok teresa, i'm going to give you a little episiotomy to help the baby come out” which I didn't want, but I trust my doctor. I didn't feel it anyway. Then she tells me “we have to use the foreceps because her heartbeat is going up” so I mumble something about “ok as long as the baby's safe” and one last push and the baby's head and entire body come popping out. Next thing I know this cute little slimy thing was laid on my tummy and she wasn't crying, so I was rubbing her head and her leg and my husband is looking down at me in shock as i'm smiling weakly from all the drugs. He hadn't noticed the doctor trying to hand him scissors to cut the cord lol. He finally notices and cuts the cord and they take the baby off to the warmer and start cleaning her. My doc tells me “well you have a little tearing so i'm going to st_tch you up now” once again cool because I felt nothing still.
So the stats of the world's most gorgeous baby girl are:
Kiara Ariana Bella Finch
born December 2, 2008 at 1:25pm Central Time
10lb 7.5oz
22 inches
I have 3 pics from my cell phone on my myspace which I have made public again so everyone can see her. As for her name, I didn't steal it from anyone. My husband's grandfather pa__sed recently and they were very very close and the grandfather's mother's middle name was Bella, so that's where we got that.
And the extent of my injuries were 4th degree tearing, episiotomy, hemorrhoids, and a cracked tailbone. So i'm actually still in the hospital right now, lol, but doing better. 2 Vicadin every 3 hours is niiice =P sorry I hadn't been on sooner, but i'm sure you guys understand =D

angel: blame the vegemite!! lol those f'ing aussies =P actually i got the epi because i was already tearing lol, so i ended up with both. everything is great. she was a bit yellow, but they put her under special lights and she's much better now. we've all been discharged actually, so we're home and trying to figure out a routine for everything. 4th degree tear means i ripped from my vejayjay through my a___l wall and through the rectum and sphincter muscle so pretty much i ripped my hooha and my b___t lol. it doesn't happen to everyone, though, so don't get scared of that =P i was the first 4th degree most of the nurses had ever seen. and actually, today is the 6th and it happened only 4 days ago and i feel a lot better than before. a bit crabby because they had me on vicodin every 3 hours every single day and i'm choosing to stop that. ty for the well wishing, though =)
amanda: thank you ^^ and despite everything that happened, i can see why ladies go through it again and again, just to see their baby try to look at them for the first time.
db: yeah, but the next time i pop one out, if i can get away with just a cracked tailbone, i will be sooo happy lol. with these rips, i have to take stool softeners and spray myself down after i use the restroom. sooo annoying and most of the time, dh has to do it for me.
ashley: thank you very much! i love holding her, but at the same time, i love it even more seeing my husband hold her. it gives him a look in his eye that i've never seen before and i love it i was able to do that for him.
now who's next!? =P
