thanks teddy,i am too hoping they will wait to atleast 39 weeks 40 weeks but her estiamated weight is at 10lbs.6oz at 41 weeks so i have the scan tuesday ( they think she,l weigh 8lbs) so im hoping they,l leave me atleast another week, i dont think they want her to still be in there at 39 weeks i think thast the latest they,l leave it, but what do i know lol! they may not see a prob and leave me until 42 weeks........ i mean you say you ended up with a broken tailbone and your baby had a broken collar bone........see i really dont want that if i can help it, imagine the stress a 10pounder goes through trying to come out natrually lol

God, I'm so glad that Teddy came into this conversation because it was honestly getting on my nerves!!! Really seriously, back off her please. Here is the thing, I COMPLETELY understand the att_tudes about natural birth-I really do. I myself had planned on having a fully natural birth, and I don't just mean v____al. The thing is that I entered the ER with a blood pressure so high they didn't know how I was still walking or talking...well...I guess I wasn't talking that well because I was slurring that a drunk! LOL! But I HAD to be induced. There were some docs that wanted me to go straight in for a c-section but one doctor let me know that we could TRY v____al after they treated my blood pressure. Things all depend on the doctor. Like with DB, when you deal with doctors that throw you through hoops, yeah don't trust them. But in Angelmonkey's case, the docs sound like they have it under control. They are trying to give her what she wants, consider the health of the baby, etc. Angelmonkey has a different situation than some who just get to sit there, have their water break, and have a natural labor. Having a large baby CAN be a danger. If Angelmonkey had some of the att_tudes mentioned, she really could kill her child. There are situations where women tried to have natural labor with large babies and the baby got stuck, and by the time they could intervene the baby had died. The docs are doing everything to prevent that from happening. And anyone who has seen what Angelmonkey looks like right now can tell she has a HUGE baby. Some people get that big from just getting fat or already having a lot of abdominal fat, but that's not the case with her. Also, with her belly you can tell SHE didn't get huge, and she's not just full of placenta and fluids-SHE IS FULLLLLLL OF BABY! She does look like she's having twins. She's been looking full term for a while now! Sorry Angelmonkey, I'm really not talking about your size, cause you really are still tiny, but just sizing that pregnant belly and the way it looks. You really are nothing but baby! Anyway, with research of the things that can go wrong and of her situation you'd see that really her doctors are doing a good job, she has a smart att_tude about it and it's going to be fine. We can debate this all day long, but of course those who have not had a possibly dangerous situation are going to say...oh hey it's all wrong....and they are going to treat her like she's being stupid. But just consider that she really could have complications. She isn't just like one of these celebrities saying she wants to do it this way or get a c-section because she doesn't want her vag getting stretched out, or she wants to hurry up and get skinny for a certain date. It's obvious she's sticking it out and doing whatever that baby needs. Peace and Love guys, and really try to have a more open mind. This isn't so alternative. It is the type of stuff doctors do to cause us to have statistics that show we have more survival of mothers and babies than we had 100 years ago, or even 50 years ago. Yes, some doctors over-use it, like how my cousin had to have a c-section so her doctor could go on vacation. But that doesn't sound like the case here! Good luck to you Angelmonkey, and you ARE doing a great job!

thanks V you totally have it right! of course i want her to stay in as long as possible but with her size it could be really dangourous, i wont know how big she is until tuesday they are just going by my oyher scans and how she gains every 4 weeks which is about 2 1/2 pounds and my last midwife appoinment where she was really concerned at how big she felt............you never know they may scan me and say everything is fine her size is great................although i agree V HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF ME! haha! i seriously get people ask me if im having twins all the time! even when i went to hospital last weekend and the midwife was like wow thats a nice size for 36 weeks lol! but she ment huge but quickly changed her words lol!............but yea my point being if she is messuring bid in my next scan and they think io should be induced then i will do that!! i will not leave it for her to be stressed when i go in to labour and it end up in a c-section...........im 37 weeks so she,s term and would be healthy if i was induced right now! so i see no problem............i understand people will share there experiances which is fine but for those that tell me im stupid ect..........well you really dont have a clue! we are talking about my babys life and anyone that thinks i should refuse beiong induced and try to push out a possibally 10 1/2lb baby which will probably lead to complications and end in c-section well pffft is all i have to say..............they may get her weight wrong but im not going to risk that! she will be fine if born now, women go in to natrual labour at 37 weeks all the time...........honestly i can handle some of your thoughts and negative input but i will not refuse inducement

newbaby2009 - January 25

Angel, i just read your post about the heathcare system where you are. I missed it before. Thats not what i meant by doctors who push c-sections and inductions with no meadical reason are only seeing dollar signs. Like where i go is a private practice with 5 different OBs. The OB that is on call when you you go into labor is the one that delivers your child regardless of whether or not he was your OB throughout your pregnancy. So a lot of times an OB will want to schedule an induction/c-section just to guarantee he is the one who delivers the baby. Therefore he gets the big bucks. V- i really dont see what you're getting so upset about. There had only been one person in this thread tell Angel getting induced is stupid and/or that she shouldnt do it. And that was lunamoo who always seems to pull info out of her a__s. So who exactly was your post directed at? Just curious. I dont see anything wrong with someone saying if they were in Angels position they wouldnt do it. Its their body, their baby.

angelmonkey - January 25

no thats ok nb.........its the same here when i have a midwife appoinment its always someone different same with my hospital appoinments and they all tell me the same thing about he rbeing big.........you also have about 5 different midwifes come in while your in labour with shift swaps ect.......its just whoever is free at the time.........you really loose your dignity here lol

Teddyfinch - January 25

angel: it's not the size of the baby that was the problem. while i am a bit fluffy, i am not a very big boned person. my hips weren't big enough for the size of the baby. some women can pop out 13lb babies no problem. i just suggest being very open to pain meds lol. the day before she was born, her estimated weight was 8lb 15oz so they were very off lol. and my doc didn't like to estimate because she said it is never right and the mother knows better if her baby is big or not. i just kind of forced them to guess lol. V: i'll have to type more later, but the hubby's calling me. it's his birthday so we're all going out ^^

angelmonkey - January 25

see i,ve always had a feeling she that she is big! they estiamted her weight on my scans (6th one will be tuesday) and at my last appoinment the midwife said she felt very big for her age, well how many weeks i am..............i had a very small frame before so im kinda worried getting her out will be a problem if she,s that large.........did they do any estiamted weights from any of your scans before hand? im open to pain meds although i want to try just gas and air..............im a little worried about having an epidural though and really want to try and not have one...............but hmmm who knows lol

V9653 - January 25

Newbaby-no I'm not that huffy, it's just that Angelmonkey is a first timer and putting your feelings out there is fine, but the tone of the continuing comments is the kind of stuff that picketers do. Like "I have this belief and you're wrong for doing it like that!" It has the possibility of scaring a first-timer into something that could be a mistake, especially since they aren't paying careful attention to particular situations, and they probably haven't been in the situations that have needed emergency c-sections or inductions. And no I was not directing it at you. I brought up some of you guys' comments as an overall. Overall, it's right that some docs will go too easy on c-sections and inductions just because...you know! That's stupid! There's moms who get c-sections because they are afraid that they will get all stretched out! That's fine but it's kind of pointless. The point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't sound like that is the case here. I don't think Angelmonkey is being petty and I think her doctors are doing what doctors should. She's lucky to have that. And as for you, I get your points but even you aren't forcing the issue, just informing her-I can't b___h you out for that. LOL!

Teddyfinch - January 26

angel: that was pretty much the only estimate they made for me. and the epidural wasn't bad at all. my legs went all fuzzy, but that went away and i didn't have any trouble pushing.

angelmonkey - January 26

i see..........have you had any preoblems after your epi? i heard your not aloud to hold your baby until its worn off? but im not sure if its true or not...........im really going to try just gas and air for as long as possible......how long that will be im not sure lol! even BH are nearly getting me in tears recently lol

lunamoo - January 26

Teddy, google "natural birth" AND READ how it is defined. I meant it as such. End of story.

iona - January 26

Natural Childbirth is a philosophy of childbirth that is based on the notion that women who are adequately prepared are innately able to give birth to their child, without external intervention. Teddy don't be so snotty!

ashley_1991 - January 26

Good luck Angel. Dominik I went into labor on my own, had pain meds and they had to help him out with the vacuum, Bella they had to give me pitocin cuz my water broke but i wasnt contracting and I pushed her out on my own with the help of an epidural, BOTH I consider to be natural births they came out of my v____a lol and I pushed them out.

angelmonkey - January 26

thanks ashley i also considor a baby that comes out of my v____a as a natrual birth............i think lunmoo and iona are just nit picking

newbaby2009 - January 26

I definately consider Rylie a natural birth. She was born v____ally with no pain meds. Even though it was no choice of my own, lol. V- haha ok. i didnt think you were directing it at me. Ive basically just been speaking in general about c-sections and inductions, not specifically about Angels situation. Angel- I dont think its true they dont lat you hold your baby until the epidural wears off. They usually make sure the mom is the first to hold the baby if circ_mstances allow. Rylie had a low temp and needed to be put in the incubator and they still laid her on my chest first.
