Angel- Rh neg does have a little something to do with your boyfriends blood type. If he has a negative blood type as well, you wouldnt even need the shots. Problems can only arise if your baby has a positive blood type, which cant happen with two negatives. My OB said they used to just test the babys fathers blood as well to determine if rhogam was even needed because it does have possible reactions but there were so many cases of the father not actually being the father they began giving it regardless.
And being rh neg can cause problems with your 1st pregnancy. With my 1st pregnancy the didnt do any bloodwork so they didnt know i was rh neg. I went to my 8 week appt. and was told i was experiencing a threatened miscarriage, i was spooting so bad. They put me bed rest and sent me home. I lost the baby at 12 weeks. My new OB was certain i wouldnt have lost it had i been given rhogam with the spotting. I went on to have 3 miscarriages because my body had built up antibodies from spotting during my 1st pregnancy. My body saw the baby as an intruder or foreign object and attacked it. I was never supposed to be able to carry a baby full term.
They dont really know what causes puppps. Some believe it has to do with your liver not filtering toxins properly and some believe it to be an inflammatory reaction to the damage of the connective tissue that occurs with stretching skin, typically on the abdomen. This is also coupled with the increase of hormones in a pregnant woman's body, specifically, estrogen. ( yes i copied and pasted that) Im surprised your midwife hasnt heard of it since it is a recognized disease in the UK. Though in the UK its known as polymorphic eruption of pregnancy (PEP).

newbaby i know about the RH negative, i got told they wouldnt test his blood as only 15% of peope have it but that they would test babys blood after birth................i know that it can lead to compliactions in the 1st pregnancy if something like spotting happens but here you get blood taken that checks for your blood type at your fisrt midwife appoinment which is at 8 weeks but if your unfortunate to have bleeding before then then yes enough antibodies buid up in that pregnancy that will fight of the baby as a forign object..............i just mean in general it gets more complicated in future pregnancys according to my midwife..................its complicated as i havnt mentioned puppps to my midwife as she just pa__s,es in on to antinatle clinic at the hospital it was the consoltant i told but i may say something to her but all the midwife really does through your pregnancy is bp ect you see the consoltants at the hospita if you have any problems
