Pregnancy comes with a lot of awkward and painful cramps and discomforts. It's just part of the process. Unless it's unbearable it's probably nothing.

Like Amanda said, pregnancy does come with a lot of aches and pains that some women have these and the others have those. So it's impossible to answer your question without a reminder of how far along you are and what the pain feels like, where it is, a comparative pain, and whether or not you have done something that couldd be a problem, no one knows if you have had braxton hicks contractions berfore, etc etc

Braxton hicks contractions are generally not supposed to be painful although they can be uncomfortable. Also they only last for a short time, generally 20 seconds or so. Is your pain constant or does it come in waves? Also when you have bh contractions your uterus will tighten up, this is something you can feel from the outside. If you put your hand on your belly you can feel it getting hard. Bh contractions are a natural part of being pregnant but if you notice any of the following you should consult a doctor. 1. Pain, i know you said you had pain but you need to ask yourself "am i really in pain or just uncomfortable?" 2. The are comming frequently, more than 5 in an hour or they start comming on a regular basis, like you can set your watch to them. If you feel like these are probably bh contractions there are a few things you can do, 1. change your position, if you have been moving around a lot, lay down, if you have laying down, try walking around a bit. 2. Drink a few gla__ses of water, dehydration can bring them on, make sure you stay well hydrated. 3. You can also try a warm bath to relaz your muscles. If you feel that what you are experiencing is not bh contractions but something else and you are still feeling it today you should probably contact your doctor. They may be able to determine just by talking to you what is wrong, don't be afraid to call that is why they get paid the big bucks ;)
