Resisting The Urge To Have Another

Haha it's completely ridiculous of me, I JUST had Ellie a little over a month ago, and I find myself incredibly anxious to have another. My period hasn't even come yet! I know I would probably die of exhaustion if I had another so soon... Plus I'm not financially stable and that's just unfair to my mom. Of course I'm going to wait but I wanted to let that out. Harold wants to wait another five years but that's so long! I know it would probably a good time in our lives to have another... But jeeze five years?! I can't wait that long :( Haha okay well there's really nothing to respond to here... so anyone else have similar experiences?

When I had my first I was the same way. I dont think I realized it wasnt so much that I wanted another baby as I wanted the joys of being pregnant again....God makes you forget or down play all the bad parts after you have the baby, so you are dumb enough to go through it again...lol...I have exactly 2-1/2 years between my boys...The urge to have another i think comes from hormone changes too. You end up so focused on your LO that before you know it, a few years goes by and you thinking about the next in a more rational way. It will be the same for Harold. He probably in due time wont want to wait 5 years either.....My youngest is 10months and I am going through baby blues right now because all my friends that were pregnant with me are haveing another now, but I realize if they werent then I would be perfectly content with what I have. We plan on haveing another in a few years, and unless the female medical problems that I have stand a chance of altering our chance to have anther I am sure we will wait that few years. Which both Dh and I are okay with......Hope this helps a little :)

DB- I think I'm the same way about the pregnancy. Yesterday I went out and bought a sling that holds her against my stomach. It felt like I had my pregnant belly again so I felt a little better hahaha.

It's a hormonal thing, i went through it too when my baby was first born. I think you are on such a high and feel so wonderful you think "why not do this again?" But that urge really does go away and i think the reality of just how hard it would be sets in.

I had the urges since my daughter was little, did nothing about it. Hubby and I just talked about it when she was about 17 months and we decided we're reading. Never went away lol I was just smart about it.
