amanda just because someone who is prison for stuff like it does not mean that they were beat as i child! jeesh what a stupid theory! they were most lilley not taught right from wrong by the blinf drunk smacked up parents who barley remembered that they exsisted!! and amamnda if a man who was in prison for rape was mentally ill they would be in a mental hospital wouldnt they! but there not because they are not mentally ill! they dont know right from wrong, there not scared or see why they shouldnt do the thingsd the are wrong on life as they were never taught by punishment!! im sorry if that stupid teacher was right wouldnt me and pb be in prison!! oh and db! im sure theres others to! i seriously wouldnt take parenting adviced from your teacher if thats the stuff he spews out

Yeah, but i dont concider raping someone being mentally ill, Not in the sense that they have a disease that makes them that way. They may just be sick in the head, have fantasies, etc. Its their choice, i know humans are social animals, but no one is the same everywhere. We evolve in our own ways, like my husband for example has a mental illness that thank god is not as severe as his fathers, but my husband doesn't like to be around tons of ppeople thats why we are so proud of him being at uni and hes slowly working past it. But because hes ill , doesn't mean hes going to go out and just.....shoot or rape someone. Some people just have to stop and take responsibility for their actions, Yes some are mentally ill, some disease that makes them that way. Then yes i do believe they should be in a mental hospital, however, i dont believe that everyone is goingto pretty much end up in prision just because they got spanked. I mean, think about it.....back in the day, MOST kids were spanked in those times, yet some are old right now...not in prision...and sure its going to be more common in the older prisioners being spanked because thats how it was back in the day if you didn't do anything right. Yes there is going to be a more frequent chance that if someone was beat or hurt it damaged them mentally and they did something wrong. Yes i'll agree to that. But sometimes, its just peoples choices, nothing to do with their parents, friends, background. Sometimes, people are just disgusting all on their own. And i'm sure that small college project was pretty thourough, but its just not possible that every person in prision is there because they were spanked. Otherwise, i would be there too. Its also not soley the parents faunt or their situations fault...Like abuse, that they are there too. They have a choice, otherwise, i would be there too. and so would everyone else who had a hard life. That would pretty much be at least 2 4ths of the united states.

Th study didn't say that every person in the world who was spanked is going to end up in prison... I was spanked as a child and the only law I've ever broken in my LIFE was underage s_x... and I stole a lobster brush when I was a toddler, then returned it. The study is just on people in prison. I'm sure they just went to some prison and took a survey on how many people in those prisons were spanked as children. I already stated that it could be because spanking was extremely common some 20 years ago. It's ridiculous to say that every child who is spanked will end up in jail, that's not what I'm saying at all... Personally I really don't believe anyone is disgusting all on their own. I have never met a child and thought "You're disgusting!" Children are born pretty much as blank slates and are taught to be disgusting. That's like saying someone is born to be a rapist. Then how could we put them in jail if that's just part of their personality? They have therapy sessions at prisons for everyone... I've never heard of a therapist saying "Oh well you just raped and murdered that woman because that's your personality. There's nothing wrong with you." And yes humans are social animals but that doesn't necessarily mean they love being around each other. I hate being around large groups of people. What I meant by that is they have an instinct to help someone in need and protect their fellow man (I'm talking physically, not emotionally)... Not kill them.

amanda and how many situations have you been in when a theropist is actually talking to s_x offender?? you dont know what they say so no you havnt heard many people say oh its your personality theres nothing wrong with you!! im sorry but beleive it or not!! rapists are just raspists!! a majority of them do just choose do it!! it is there choice nothing makes them do it! your ok cos they only do it because they are mentally unstable!! your sound like your sticking up for them saying its ok there menattly unstable! no most just dont get any and the only way they can do it is by raping.................and i still beileive you are more liley to go prison if you dont know what diciplin is! that study is bull!

I'm not excusing anyone's behavior. I actually don't even agree that the mentally ill should get special treatment for their crimes. I'm not standing up for them, they are disgusting people. I'm for the death penalty in rape cases. I think this all became a misunderstanding. I'm not against spanking at all. I don't think your child would become a horrible person from being spanked. Sometimes I think my nephew should be given a quick tap on the wrist at times. I'm saying the study can't be wrong, it's a study. It's not a widespread study, though. And many people were spanked in our last generation. It may be a coincidence. See, I'm not even disagreeing with anything you're saying. "Something" did influence these people to do the crimes they did. I'm not saying a spank is going to convince someone to kill somebody. However, something messed up in their lives, whatever it may be, did. This is kind of silly, we aren't even really disagreeing on anything... I'm simply saying the study, which is NOT widespread, it could just be one prison they studied for all I know, and that may even be a coincidence, but the study cannot be wrong because it's factual. The numbers were right in front of me.

if you look at it this way, for example my mums generation there were hardly any kids young people ect getting sent to jail and most of them got spanked i mean they even got spanked at school! and nowadays everyone is like oh spanking is bad bla bla so not as many people do it! and look at the teenegers walking around with knifes stabbing people ect!! it was never like that in my mums generation and most of them got spanked! this study is just stupid and im sorry but i dont beleive its right!! not after my point i just made! it just makes sence that people who are not disciplined dont really care or know right from wrong! thats why we have teenagers stabbing people all the time!! well i know in th euk knife crime is a big thing atm and most of them come from care homes or there parents are drunks ect! kids need a little spanking and getting taught right from wrong to stop them turning out like th epeople in prison

Oh no amanda, I am agreeing with you entirely. Im just saying that the study, a study could be wrong if there weren't enough people, depending on the age and such. because if they visited a prision with old peopl eof course everyone had the same ethics back then. so obviously they would all be spanked. But a study can be wrong. Especially one that isn't widespread..and is done just as a colege project. There are tons of factors that could have been wrong or not included in their study. So yes, it could be wrong. Just because they have numbers doesn't make it factual. Everythign has the potential of being wrong.

and just because someone kills someone doesn't mean its abnormal human behavior. Since human nature is to make mistakes and preserve self above all others. Those were the only things i was disagreeing about. other than that, i do agree with you. On most points. Although i'm sure i did mis understand some things, but most things i understood.
