Well, I'm now 38 1/2 weeks along. I had an appointment yesterday, and still nothing. No dialation, no effacement. I think she's comfy in my tummy. Rachel - my friend went a week at the measurements you're at before she had hers. Could be sooner, too. Jazminesmom - glad to hear Aiden is doing much better. Well - I'll keep checking the forum. My next appointment is Monday, and I doubt I will have any changes before that. I feel like I'm going to pregnant forever. - Joann

Hi everyone! I just got back from the doctors and thought I'd share my update! I've had contractions off and on for several days now. Dr said I'm dialated to a 2/3, 50% effaced, and baby's head is "right there." That sounds pretty promising, although I am really hoping to NOT go into labor for at least a few days. I'm still sick with sinus/chest cold (but I am starting antibiotics today! Hopefully, they will help), and my 21 month old dd is sick as well. She running a fever and wants her mommy to hold her and cuddle her. It just wouldn't be good for me to have the baby just yet. I want her to enjoy the baby's arrival, not be sick or sent away to family's to keep the baby healthy. Sigh...Well, she needs her mommy now...hope everyone else is healthy!

Hey ladies....sounds like everyone is getting close. I went to the doctor last Thursday and I was only dialated maybe a fingertip which means not at all really. Jacob was still high so I think it might be a few more weeks. I am now having severe pains from my sciatic nerve. I have never felt pain like this in my life. It is horrible. I am actually home from work today because of it. I went in yesterday to waddle behind my kindergarteners. All my teacher friends laughed at me. I was thinking it was not to funny but since they enjoyed the show I laughed with them. They all said...oh lord, she looks ready to have that baby now. LOL! I go back tomorrow for another check up. I have completed all the cla__ses I signed up for, Childbirth cla__s, infant CPR and b___stfeeding. We are moved into our house. It is not settled by any way shape or form but we are in. Jacob's room has not even been started. I just cannot do it with this back hurting so bad. It will get done and if it doesn't he will be fine anyway. So what is new with your girls?

Hello everyone! I am due April 12th with a baby girl, whom we cant seem to name yet, lol. I went to the Dr on Monday and she said that I am 2 cm dilated and she thinks she felt her head. She hasn't said anything about effacement or if the baby has dropped so i'm not sure. I wonder if you can be dilated but not effaced? I've been having alot of buzzing like feeling in my legs since last week and wondering if that means she has dropped? Ahh well the anticipation is killing me! I'm sooo ready to see her and not be pregnant anymore but I was her to stay in and "cook" so to speak for as long as she needs to to be perfectly healthy. JAZMINESMOM- Congrats on the baby boy, I hope everything goes well and Aiden is able to come home as expected! JOJOMAC- Maybe you are gonna wake up one morning and she will be in position, you'll be dilated, and ready to go! My fingers are crossed for you! MOMMYLOVE2- I hope the baby comes soon but after you recover from being sick, that would be nooo fun giving birth while sick! I hope the other lo recovers soon too.

JUJULBEE- today is my last day of work before maternity leave, and yesterday someone told me I couldn't go on maternity leave yet because I didn't look miserable enough yet! Is that a prerequisite or something? I have to LOOK miserable? What about FEEL miserable? :) AMY-glad you got moved into your house finally. Isn't that a good feeling? How was your appointment yesterday? Any new updates? JAZMINESMOM-I hope you get to take Aiden home tomorrow! That would make for a good weekend! Have you been staying at the hospital with him this whole time, too? DUE-IN-APRIL- good luck with the naming thing. My DH and I just finally decided on a middle name for our baby last weekend. It can be a hard decision for sure. If all else fails, wait till you get to the hospital and name your baby girl after your favorite nurse!! :) MOMMYLOVE2- how are you feeling? Getting any better? How are the contractions? Are you going to have a baby this weekend? JOANN- I hope Monday brings a more promising update for you! Are you still working? KEYA- let us know how you appointment goes tomorrow. Will they induce tomorrow, or next week? And CYNTHIA- how are you? Did those twins come? What's going on in your world? Anyhow, I gotta run to work now. It's my last day, and it's a short day. Yippee!!! :) ~Rachel

Jazminesmom - I also hope you get to bring Aiden home tomorrow. Rachel - look forward to not working for awhile. I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom. I quit working when I got married. My hubbie has 2 boys that have full time (they lost their mom to b___st cancer 3 years ago). So, I stay home and take of them. I also get comments from other moms at the school how I don't look miserable. I just say I put a smile on my face and pretend to feel okay even though I'm extremely miserable. My hubbie gets the brunt of it every night when my already swollen hands and feet are hurting more, and my back and hips are killing me. I'm glad to have a great support group. I'm the last of my friends to give birth in the past few months and they are so understanding. And my hubbie is wonderful and rubs my back almost every night. MOMMYLOVE2

It's good to hear from everyone! I'm so glad you were able to bring Aiden home, JAZMINESMOM. I'm still here and still pregnant! My cold/cough is finally getting better, though my asthma still acts up too much. I had contractions off and on yesterday, but nothing steady. Soon enough, I'm sure! I'm beginning to feel ready to have this baby! We keep telling our dd to tell "baby brother" to come out and play with her. It's so cute!
I'm anxious to read all of your exciting birth stories as these April babies make their debut!

Hey ladies...I am so glad that everyone is doing well. Thank God Aiden made it home. I am so happy for you Jasminesmom. As for me, we moved into our house, set up Jacobs room...for the most part...got somewhat settled and are now waiting for Jacob's arrival. I went to the dr on Thursday and he said I was 2 cm dilated and thinning. After I got home...beware TMI...I had a bloody show. I know it was from his exam and ouch did it every hurt when he was doing it. Anyway, I am still spotting from time to time but I know it is normal. I can barely walk now because of my scaitic nerve. My dr said it was from pelvic area spreading and now my sciatic nerve is pinched between 2 bones. Just my way of getting for labor. It hurts so bad. I would not wish this pain on the devil. I know, I know...I will have such a great blessing in the end that it is hard to complain now and I will refrain from doing it. I am still trying to work but I have to sit all day now insterad of chasing my kindergarteners around. I think either Wednesday or Friday will be my last day. I have to get my interim teacher ready for my cla__s. My dr told me that if I do not have Jacob by April 8th, which is next Tuesday, he will induce me. I will be 39 weeks on the 8th. Funny thing is, 8 is my favorite number, always has been. Weird how things work out. I could learn to love the numbers 30, 31, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 though. LOL. So that is what is going on with me, tell me what is going on with yall.

AMY--that sounds too painful! I'm impressed you are still working at this point! Be sure to take it easy some. Isn't it great that delivery will "cure" so many of our aches and pains, while giving us new ones! ;) Most people around me keep telling me they hope I don't deliver tomorrow (April Fool's Day), but I don't think I'd mind so much now! Poor guy probably would be teased a lot.... Well, my dd is wanting me to come watch a movie with her. I've been trying to enjoy as much time with her as I can before our son arrives, as I know she'll be spending a lot of time with family while we're in the hospital. Speaking of family, I am so thankful for my in-laws. They have come over several times to help me clean and do my dishes throughout this pregnancy! My family lives too far away to be much help (though they are flying in to see the baby and staying a week), but my hubby's family is amazing! I hope you all are blessed with such great families!
