I have been told I have a high level of amniotic fluid. I am now 29w tomorrow and 2 weeks ago my level was 26. They did the gestational test and I passed. So today i went and they did an u/s and I was at 22. She said it was still high but nothing seriously wrong was showing up on the u/s. They said my baby looks healthy but that they stilled wanted to test and see why it was high. Has anyone been through this and can you please give me some info. I am a first time mom and I just worry.... I can't help it... I just do....lol. Thank you so much.

Hey first time momma! I am a first time momma too. I am 40 wks pregnant tomorrow and my fluid level is 29. I do not have diabetes either. Doctors don't know why, but some woman just hold more fluid than others (so I was told by my doctor). However, this extra fluid does keep the baby from descending in the cervix properly because they tend to float more, so I have to have a c-section tomorrow because of this. My baby is also real long in length, so this is another reason for my baby not properly descending. I guess she's too big for my framework. You still have 10 wks to go, so you could lose some fluid from now til then. Good luck! I wouldn't worry, though. C-sections now days have the same healing times as regular v____al births. As long as your baby is healthy and you are healthy, that is all that matters. I wish for you the best and hope you enjoy your little one soon.
