Feeling Like A Bad Mom

OK so i am 32 weeks and 5days pregnant. For about a month i have not taken my prenatal vitamins or my medication prescribed for bipolar. I also had been smoking marijuana to deal with the bipolar. Today i am feeling very guilty and like i don't deserve this baby and that this baby don't deserve me. I want to give my baby everything, is it to late? I also have gestational diabetes and have been doing poorly on my diet. I wish i could rewind time and do all the things i had planned to do. I also smoke cigerettes i have cut down since before i got pregnant. I just don't understand i was doing so good during the first trimester but after that everything just sort of went downhill. And now i feel so selfish. But no more making up excuses, i was just wondering could i have cause so much damage that there could be something seriously wrong? Is it possible to get back on track? Any input would help, and i know your going to have your opinions but try to be as nice as possible i already feel so terrible! Thanx.

At this point all you can do is come clean with your OB, and start taking care of that baby inside you.

Hi Angel, This forum certainly isn't a place or anyone to pa__s judgement, we are here to support each other. I feel that it's never to late to make changes. It is obvious that you are not doing best or yourself or baby, now all you have to do is take control of your life back for the benefit of both of you. Pregnancy brings a lot of change, emotionally and physically and it's not doubt that this affects woman in all kinds of ways. Plus, you are dealing with being bi-polar, which is not easy to do when you aren't pregnant, never mind when you are and your hormones are raging inside of you. You have only missed five days of prenatals and meds, make a commitment to yourself to start taking them regularly again tomorrow. As for smoking pot, let it go and the cigs as much as you can too. You know the right thing to do. The first trimester is the most critical in development and you did well through that. That's not to say that the second and third aren't important because they are, but if you make some changes now I'm sure your baby will be fine. I would also contact your dr or therapist and start seeing him/her to get some support. You can do this, I know you can! You just have to reach out to those around you for support, especially your dr and therapist. I'ts important that they know what's going on so that they can help you. Don't do this alone!!! Good luck and keep me posted on how things are going. Believe in yourself and don't give up!!!!
