My husband stayed with me too, and it was so great for both of us. I was there for 3 nights, and it was like being in a little cocoon with our new baby, we loved it! He didn't mind the fold out bed at all, although he can sleep anywhere. We're both sad that this time he'll have to be home with our 2-year-old so I'll have to stay at the hospital by myself.

I had my lo a month ago (she's one month old today) and when I had her my hubby stayed with me the entire time. I stayed in the hospital for 3 nights. The first night I was still prego but I had gone in to be induced, which they did at 9:30 that night. The second night we stayed we had the baby with us since she was born at 9:24 in the evening and the hospital I went to wants you to stay at least 24 hours with the baby and we didn't want to go home at midnight the next night so we stayed a third night. It was so nice to have dh with me and he slept perfectly fine on the makeshift bed they have in the birthing suites. You both will be so exhausted after you have your baby anyway that you should both sleep just fine. If you're lucky your baby will sleep most of the time anyway and only wake up when s/he is hungry. At my hospital your baby stays in the room with you in a little crib so you have that bonding time and I really liked that a lot. Her crying didn't disturb my dh at all, then again, she didn't cry much anyway. Good luck to you!
