I had an ultrasound done yesterday and I was told Im 13 wks not 12 wks pregnant. My question is that my baby weighs 64 grams and everywhere I read they say on 13 wks your baby weighs between 23 and 28 grams. Is 64 grams normal? Does anyone out there have more or less the same weight. Im just wondering if my baby is overweight

There is no way for you baby to be fat at 12-13 weeks. They are just tissue at that point. Babies dont start forming actual fat until about 30 weeks. You are probably just a little farther along than what you originally thought.

Another possibility is that you may be glucose intollerant. I am 30 weeks and my baby weights 6lbs. They went ahead and moved my due date ahead by 2 weeks which would make me 33 weeks. They are very concerned that I may be glucose intollerent and made me take the test today. I guess we will find out soon....

Thanks guys!
What worries me jessb is the fact that they said I am 13 according to the size, that is, measurements of my baby. And it weighs 64 grams! Even 14 at wks they are around 45grams.
I really dont know.

If the doctors didnt seem concerned I wouldnt worry about it. Its still really early to tell how big your baby is going to end up being 28 weeks from now when you are full term. The fetus could have just gone through a growth spurt right before your ultrasound and now the growth may slow down for a while.

Aqua- also keep in mind that the weight provided by an ultrasoind is not exact, they are off all the time. I am measuring 1/2 week ahead throughout my pregnancy, I would not worry.
