Good morning! Mjv, I cannot believe I only have 4 days left!!! I am excited and a little nervous at the same time. I am feeling not too bad today, but last night I woke up with such a horrible pain in my back. The pain was on my left side, so I could only sleep on my right side to relieve the pain. I hope that it is not the beginning of back labour? :( When u were pregnant, did ur babies get the hiccups alot? MIne seems to, especially at night. U are so lucky to have a mellow baby, I really hope our baby is mellow too.

You two are so close. Don't be nervous, the nurses will take care of you and answer all of your questions. You ladies will do great! Yes, Nate had the hiccups all the time.

Today is my due date. No baby yet though. :/ Kendell gets the hick-ups a lot too. I couldn't sleep last night, so, as pathetic as it sounds, I just got up around 5pm. I finally went to bed around 11am. UGH

It doesn't get much better after the baby comes. I am only getting about 4 hours of sleep a night with Nathaniel, and that is broken up in to 2 hour stints. I am deleriously tired.

I hope you're able to catch up on your sleep soon. I'm "hoping" that once Kendell comes that dh being able to rotate with me will help with the sleep a bit. Right now he gets to snore through the potty breaks and me just being up and not able to sleep. lol I'm hoping to pump a lot....so then we can rotate a bit the first month or so.

Hey pepper and Mjv, I have not been sleeping well either. I have been going to bed late and wake up every hour to pee. Then I am up by 6am, it so sucks. I guess my body is preparing me for whats to come with the baby. My hubby gets to sleep all through the night as well, but once the baby comes, that is so going to change!!!! LoL Pepper, how are u feeling today? Have u had anymore contractions? I have been getting a litle bit more discharge than ususal, but nothing else.

Hey, do you ladies know what time you are going in on the 4th?? I am home alone today with both the kids and things are going alright... so far. It is just my daughter who is driving me nutts. She is so freakin' LOUD!! She yells everything and when the baby cries, she makes this high pitch squeal, followed by yelling, "MAMA, HE'S CRYING!!" She is two and a half and we are working on using our "inside voice", but we haven't quite gotten through to her yet, and the process is exhausting. Okay, I have to get going. I am going to try and get Madalyn down for a nap so I can have a break while Nathan is sleeping, wish me luck.

Hey Mjv, I am going in at 8am on Monday. I cannot believe that is only 48hrs away!!!! :) I am really starting to get b___terflies in my stomach now. My husband and I are getting the house ready for the movers Tues morning. Hopefully the move will go smoothly while I am in the hospital. I have been up since 6am today, I wish I could have slept in more. I am going to try and take it easy on Sunday, so I can rest up for delivery. Sounds like you have your hands full with the kids, hopefully u do not get too stressed out. :) I better go and do some packing.

I go in at 5:30pm Sunday for the cervidil and then they said they'll start the pitocin Monday morning, if it's needed. One question...if I plan to use a b___st pump, are we to take that to the hospital or is that something that they prefer you to figure out on your own at home?

I am so excited for the two of you. I can't wait to hear how you did. Pepper, you can definitely take your pump with you, however, they prefer that you not pump for the first 24 hours at least, they are going to want the baby at the b___st only, if you are planning to b___stfeed. Remeber, in the beginning for about the first 3-5 days you will only be producing colostrum, then your milk with come it. So, to start off you may not have much at all. The point of using the baby and not the pump is because, usually the baby is more efficient at emptying the b___st than the pump, and it keeps your ravenous little one from becoming confused with the switch between b___st and bottle nipple. You can however ask for the set-up with bottle and tube. They will give you a small bottle, cut a tiny hole in the nipple and insert a very thin tube. You then tape the tubing to your b___st and the end is right at your nipple and the baby then gets directly from the b___st and from whatever you have in the bottle, be it expressed b___stmilk or formula. If you ask for this method to help get you started and ensure the baby is getting all that is needed, the nurse will know what you mean. don't be intimidated to ask. The two of you will do beautifully. Don't be nervous. As soon as you get there and meet your nurse, you will relax. Ask lots of question and for your own comfort, make sure the nurse doing your IV is experienced. I had a horrible experience with my first. The nurse was new and blew 3 veins before she told me she was new and got someone else. That was awful, and I had pain in my wrists for TWO YEARS afterwards, and I am NOT exaggerating. It hurt to pick up my daughter and even to run my finger over the side of my wrists below my thumbs. Anyway, just a thought. I took Nate shopping today, and pur daughter stayed home with her daddy. The baby is so easy, it is the toddler who is giving me a hard time. With an infant, all you have to do is wake them every 3 hours to feed and change their diaper. Then they proptly fall asleep again. It is a bit tougher at night though, until they start sleeping atleast 5 hours at a time. During the day I feed him every 3 hours, but at night I feed on demand. I wait until he cries and wakes me up. It usually gets me another two hours or so of sleep a night, which I am so greatful for. Well, I have to get my daughters jammies out of the dryer, so I'd better go. Have a great night. Your babies will be here soon!!

Thanks for all the info. I bet it was nice to get out of the house!!!!!

mjvdec01 - August 3

It was wonderful to get out, especially toddler free. I met another mommy on these boards that actually only lives about 45 minutes from me, so we meet up every week or so. Of course not since I was about 34 weeks, so today was the first time in awhile. It is great because she has a newborn as well, and a daughter that is only about 8 months younger than Madalyn.

Hey ladies, I cannot believe tomorrow I will be giving birth! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. Hopefully everything goes well and we will have a healthy baby boy or girl. Pepper you must be getting excited too, good luck tomorrow!!! :) I will post my birth story when I get home.

mjvdec01 - August 3

Pepper, I'm sure you are already at the hospital. Mari, good luck tomorrow. I can't wait to read your birth stories!! Soon we will all be on the infant forum.
