Alright so here it is.. my AWESOME birth story :) Kaelyn Renee was born June 11th at 11:28pm (she really wanted to be born on the 11th lol) so, I was having really annoying cramps and contractions and stuff all day but they just would not stay consistent until they got to 10 minutes apart and stayed that way for an hour or so. I told my mom they were pretty regular and she wanted an excuse to come home from work early so she told them she was going to take me to the hospital lol. she got home and we decided we would go walk to try to see if they would get closer together. I told my mom we should put the hospital bags and stuff in the car just in case. I went to get my stuff from my room while she went outside to put the car seat base in her car. I brought my stuff into the living room and felt gush of liquid, it felt like I peed myself, it was so gross. I went to the bathroom and and check and it would not stop coming out so I figured it was amniotic fluid. I put on a pad and told my mom I was 99% sure my water broke and she got super excited. so much for or walk lol but now we were headed to the hospital, YAY! I called my dad on the way and texted a few people (I was texting people all the way up till I was ready to push LOL) anyway, we got to the hospital and sure enough my water broke, they admitted me, stuck an IV in my wrist and put me in my room and we stayed there awhile. Eventually they checked my cervix and there was no change so they started pictocin and progressively upped the dose till my contractions were super intense and about a minute or so apart. One of my nurses convinced me to get the epidural now rather than wait till later because it would allow me to relax and let the baby drop faster, they said the baby was at the -2 station and I was at 5cm. So I got the epidural and oh my gosh it was amazing! but, after I got it my blood pressure dropped and the babys heart rate dropped so they put me on oxygen and that fixed it :) about four hours later they checked me again and baby was at the zero station, the nurse said she couldnt find my cervix so the other nurse came and checked and said I was at 9cm. They called my doctor and told her and My mom called my dad who took my brother and sisters and step mom to get some food and told them to come back soon but the nurse was saying it could be awhile still. well she was wrong lol I started to feel crazy pressure like I had to poop so I told the nurse and they checked again and baby was on her way out... they told me not to push yet because my doctor wasnt there yet. my mom called my dad and told him to get back fast and I called my friend Bree who filled in for my hubby at my birthing classes and told her to get to the hospital. soon as my doc got there they had me in the stirrups and I was ready to go. the total time from the first time they told me to push to the time I had my baby on my chest was under four minutes, Baby was out in about 3 pushes! not bad for a first timer huh? I didnt get any cuts or tares either, yay! I recovered super fast and Im feeling good now, Kaelyn caught on the br___tfeeding pretty fast and I couldnt be happier about that :) It was a amazing experience, the only thing that could have made it better would be if my husband could have been there. I sent him tons of pictures already though :) he is so happy, I am too! Cant wait till my little family is all together again.
