im scared because I'm 28 wks and in hospital dilated 1-2 cms and 60% effaced and having some contractions. I'm scared I'm going to have this baby too soon...I started having intense cramps and radiating lower back pain. Is there hope that I can make it to at least 34 or 35 weeks???

i went into the hospital not long ago for extremem lower back pain and because I was throwing up everything that touched my stomach. I was very worried since I was, at that time, only 30 weeks along, that I was going into preterm labor. especially when they told me I was 1-2 cm dilated and 50-55% effaced. I also lost my mucus plug in the hospital and went into very strong, consistent contractions. However, they have me some medication through an IV that stopped the contractions. They then did a test on me where they swab your cervix to check if I was at risk for preterm labor and it came back negative. My doctor said that sometimes that happens and theres nothing to worry about since my preterm labor test came back negative. If youre really worried about it, I would ask your doctor to do one of these to conduct one of these tests. Its very quick and painless and you get the results back pretty quick. The only thing you cant do is have s_x 48 hours before they do the test, that's what they told me anyway. Good luck!
